New 32 Vol Upgrade - Classic Commentaries and Studies on Romans

I just noticed a new CP addition - Classic Commentaries and Studies on Romans Upgrade (32 vols.) which is here

For some reason, someone at Logos has decided the projected price is $96, which is in my opinion just plain ridiculous. I bid $24 which is the lowest bid available

Combined with the first set of 32 volumes -( https://www.logos.com/product/8518/classic-commentaries-and-studies-on-romans ) this equals 64 volumes. Wow, that is a lot of commentaries!

I don't think it will end up selling for $96. I too have bid $24 for now.

96$ is 3$ a title... I can live with that, so long as 20 things don't all come up for purchase at the same time. 30 is more comfortable for me. so I hope thats where it ends up.

I just noticed when you search the store there is no "series/sets" entry for "classic commentaries and studies" as there are for other collections of commentaries like BECNT or NIC (nt and ot). Wonder why?

I don't have the first set Classic Commentaries and Studies on Romans (32 vols) which would $320.00
it is to much for me.

But could bid maybe $36.00 for this second set, what do you think of only having half of a set is this bad?

Projected price is determined by users not Logos. The price point with the most bids is the projected price rather than an arbitrary price s determined by Logos. Early bidders have determined the projected price to be $96. If it happens that there becomes more bidders at a different price point then that will become the projected price.

Lee, I'm in the same boat as you. I think this set is just a set of extra Romans resources. All of these resources will act as an independent commentary / book in your library, so you've got nothing to lose by buying this set. You just won't have the resources that came in the original Romans bundle.

To be absolutely specific, the total cost of the project is determined by Logos. The current bid price is determined by an algorithm. The algorithm's output varies according to user bids. See https://www.logos.com/communitypricing/about

Actually, the "suggested price" is the price which has reached the highest peak on the chart, and that is determined by bidders, not Logos. Whatever the first bidder bids has an inordinate amount of impact and sway in the CP universe. The second bidder will be greeted with a message telling him or her that the first bidder's bid is the "suggested" bid, because "suggested bid" on CP simply means highest on the chart. Most humans are sheeple and lemmings and they do things from a reactionary, herd mentality standpoint. Most people take a set-it-and-forget-it approach to CP, and so they are innately programmed to duplicate the suggested bid just so they can rest assured (assurance is a devil) that they will have a successful bid. This, of course, simply reinforces the random first bid as the suggested bid. There is no rhyme or reason to it...it is a matter of chance and irrational human behavior.

I think you are right about that.

Of course that is assuming that the first people are not being strategic which I don't think is always the case. I am often one of the first to bid on a resource and seldom do I pick what the current top bid is at.

There is no "end time". It simply stays on CP until enough bids are received or until Logos steps in to change something e.g. removing or adding resources.
