I'm writing this post using Google Chrome on my Win 8 desktop because I'm having problems with posts when using I.E. 11. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a solution for I.E. 11.
Here's what's happening with I.E. 11, when writing and attempting to submit posts.
1) With Compatibility settings on and Logos included in the Compatibility list.
The box to enter posts comes up fine and looks normal--e.g. I have all the header bar options for using bold, italics, underlining, bullets, smileys, etc. I can also enter text just fine. But... when going into the "Preview" screen to check things out before submitting the post, it's empty--not a single character of my post is there.
2) With Compatibility settings off and Logos included in the Compatibility list.
Same results as scenario 1. Everything looks and acts normal on the "Compose" screen, but nothing shows up in the "Preview" screen.
3) With Compatibility settings on and Logos removed from the Compatibility list.
The box to enter posts comes up but does not have the header bar. I can enter text fine but can't use any of the features/options normally available via the header bar because it's missing. When going into the "Preview" screen, the text I entered is there, but again, the "Compose" screen doesn't give me any of the header bar options.
4) With Compatibility settings off and Logos removed from the Compatibility list.
Same results as scenario 3. I can enter text on the "Compose" screen and it shows up on the "Preview" screen, but the header bar is missing on the "Compose" screen.
Conclusion
Based on the scenarios above, it doesn't seem to matter whether Compatibility settings are on or off. The change in behavior seems to be driven only by whether or not Logos (i.e. logos.com) is included in the Compatibility list.
If it's in the list, the "Compose" screen looks and acts normal, but nothing shows up on the "Preview" screen.
If it's not in the list, the "Compose" screen is missing the header bar, but my text shows up on the "Preview" screen.
NOTE: In the past, I went ahead and tried submitting a post in the scenario where nothing showed in the preview screen because I thought it might just be a problem with that one screen--but my final post was empty as well.
Question
Any thoughts?
UPDATE
I just tried submitting another post (a test post) in a scenario where the "Compose" screen looked normal but nothing showed up on the "Preview" screen. While composing, I used bold, italics, underline, and a smiley. Nothing at all showed up on the "Preview" screen, but... contrary to my test in the past, the final post was made and looked fine. I just couldn't preview it before hand. I have no clue as to why in my earlier test, the final post came up empty whereas this one made it through.
BOTTOM LINE
With today's test, the problem appears to be with the "Preview" screen not functioning correctly. Is anyone else seeing this with Windows 8 and I.E. 11?
