I am wanting to purchase a either an iPad, Kindle, Surface, etc., but need to know what device will operate Logos 5 the best. Ideas?
For a general use tablet - I really like the Nook HD+. I hear good things about the 9" Kindle HDX, but do not own one, I am waiting for the next generation Nook to see how it compares. However, from all I hear, the iPad is the most mature of the tablet devices for running LOGOS and gives the most satisfying experience in the use of LOGOS. The exception may be the high end Windows 8.1 tablets, these can run the complete LOGOS 5 program with no limitations.
Hi - and welcome to the forums.
Please note that only computers capable of running Mac or full Windows software can run the full Logos 5 application.
The iPad, Kindle Fire and other Android devices run mobile versions of Logos software which provide reduced (but still highly useful) levels of functionality.
What level of functionality are you looking for?
Graham
Thank you both the for the responses. I am looking for full functionality so it makes sense to go with the iPad.

Sorry, the iPad doesn't run Logos 5 and so doesn't provide full functionality.
As Floyd says above, to get full Logos 5 on a tablet you need one running the full version of WIndows
My mistake. I read that too fast. So, what do you recommend?
I can't give any personal recommendation... Personally, I view tablets as distinct devices from other computers (desktop or laptop). I have an iPad and love it. 90% of my logos use for reading is done on this device. I would not want to run L5 on any device this small, nor one designed for touch. With that said, my guess is that most users looking for what you have described (tablet, running L5) would recommend the surface pro. Make sure it is the more expensive one, which runs "full" windows apps. The cheaper, "RT" version will not.
FWIW - If I had the money to blow on a surface pro, I'd buy a cheap laptop and iPad Air instead.
While waiting to pick up an on-line order at Staples today, I saw a Surface Pro and it's $1,000. Crazy. I can't do that. Thanks everybody for the advice. : )
The Asus Trasnsformer T100 is cheaper.
I love the pullout from that article: "You won’t love it, but for bang for buck, it’s hard to beat."
I like its predecessor the VivoTab Smart. The major difference is that the T100 has Windows 8.1 and a faster Atom processor.
