The Essential IVP Reference Collection

Curious... I ordered The Essential IVP Reference Collection on Day 9... December 17 at 6:14 AM... maybe too much detail
Has anyone gotten their order yet? I can usually get a tracking number on the "My Orders" page under my account. It shows it ordered but no shipping info.
A Very Merry Christmas to all!!!!

Jim, Merry Christmas to you as well, and may you receive it before then. A great resource.

I am guessing you may be right. With the beta and late hours after release... oh and then add the 12 days of Christmas sales to keep up with... I am thinking that all little Logos elves are ready for a long 4 day weekend.. oh look... they have already taken off and the shop is closed!
If my essentials comes in the mail tomorrow.. GREAT! If not... well I have plenty of resources in my Logos Library to keep me busy.
Happy New Year too!!!

Jim,
I received mine yesterday, and am enjoying it today here in Michigan.
My guess is that it's in transit.
The elves have been busy, but they've been being prompt. I'm hoping that they enjoy their time out of the office.
And hoping you enjoy your Christmas as well!

I ordered mine right after Thanksgiving and it took about two weeks to get. I installed mine but can only access the IVP using the libronix 3 software that came with it. I thought this would add to my Logos library when I installed, but it did not. I've contacted Logos only to receive an email that we are very busy with Logos 4 issues, check out our website and contact us again if you still have a problem. I'm frustrated because I looked through all these things before I emailed them the first time. Does anyone know how I can add this IVP Reference set to my Logos Platinum Library? I would like to only have to search in one program and be able to pull from all resources. Is this possible or am I expecting more than the software is capable. Also, I have synched the software with received no different results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

David,
Have you synced your Libronix 3 licenses? That should get your resources copied over and unlocked in Logos 4.
You can sync your licenses on the under the menu: Tools>Library Management>Synchronize Licenses
After you sync your licenses, then open up Logos 4 and give it a couple of minutes to sync and update.

Thanks for the quick answer! Yes, I tried this several times and could not get it to work. The only thing I see that may cause a problem is the Libronix is stored under program files and my logos is in another directory (I chose the download option when I purchased it and this is where the file save defaulted to. Do you think this is an issue or am I at the mercy of tech support when they get back after the holidays?
Thanks,
David

That wouldn't be the cause as the two programs need to be in separate directories Open Logos 4 and try the "Update resourses" command.
Curious... what happens when you sync your Libronix 3 account? And are you using the same account for login for both L3 and L4? If your license is synced to the Logos server, it should download the resources in Logos 4.
Might be a tech issue or for one of the MVP guys here that know more than I

If your running L4 you can just call Logos and they will activate your serial number for the IVP collection and L4 will begin downloading it the next time you launch it.
That's what I did. The CD is practically useless... as L4 can't see it and you have to install L3, install the resources, input the serial and then try to sync your licenses... Then open L4 and let it discover that and download them anyway...
Just skip it and call... they did it for me in like 2 minutes.

David,
Here's another option if you synced your Libronix 3 licenses already.Put your IVP Reference disc in, when it tries to install via autostart, cancel the install.
Open Logos 4, type Sync Now in the command bar.
Logos 4 will read your disc. After the sync is complete, close Logos 4.
Restart, and Logos 4 will begin updating your library. When
I called customer service and they activated my license, I still
couldn't get the books to show up in Logos 4 via the updates. The
customer service rep took me through the process I described above, and
about 15 minutes later, Logos 4 updated my library.John A. Taylor - L5 Portfolio+++ = A Great Library!

Is this resource really worth getting? Obviously it's a best buy before Jan 1, but content wise is it worth getting if you already have a ton of resources such as in the Platinum library? What is the main focus of these resources, besides being dictionaries? Is there a major emphasis of the collection? What are the works known for? Those that have it, is it something you go to often and what are you most benefited by it?

The Dictionary of Biblical Imagery is my favorite of these resources. There is nothing like it anywhere else that I know of. It takes every possible biblical image or metaphor and traces it throughout Scripture to show how it is developed in different contexts. The collection would be worth it for that resource alone. But I also like the Pocket Dictionary of Theological Terms -- a great place to go for quick definitions but more thorough than Millard Erickson's Concise Dictionary of Christian Theology. The NT dictionaries are also all very solid background resources that are not really duplications of anything in the Platinum library:
Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels
Dictionary of Paul and His Letters
Dictionary of the Later New Testament and Its Developments
Dictionary of New Testament Background0 -
I have difficulties with the unlock code as it seems to be incorrect. Usually the codes have worked ok but now I believe one letter or number is missing from the beginning of the code. My code has only 19 alfabets or numerals as it should have 20. The label has been cut too early from the beginning and I cannot even quess what is the first letter. I even tried the whole keyboard through.
If somebody has bought this IVP ref coll v. 3.0, could he help me out telling what is the first letter of the serial number. Mine begins with TQQFX...

Sounds like a call to customer service is needed......

I happened to be on line with tech support trying to learn how get new CD/DVD resources into L4. Logos has to enter the license into L4 first and then then it can be included as a resource in L4. I was then told to enter command "scan ( CD/DVD drive)": and to close and restart L4. I did and my IVP resources were in L4. I didn't write it all down so I may have missed something but I've given you the essentials, I hope it is enough to get it done.
This forum seemed to stop completely around Christmas, is it because everyone's problem with this resource was solved?
