WIVU Constituency Trees not visible

Hello
I have a problem. I have the SESB 3 set and I was able to use the SEBS WIVU Constituency Trees trees
For some reason, it is no longer listed in my resources under LOGOS 5.
My hyperlink to that rescource gives the following messages: You have no license to view this resource (wivugraphs) [= wivucgraphs.lbxclv].
Indeed wivugraphs was not listed in Resources: I have copied it from another computer but that doesn't work either.
Is there any solution?

Hans,
to the best of my knowledge, the WIVU Constituency Trees never worked in Logos 4/5. I seem to recall that there was some sort of understanding (I don't recall a formal "promise") that this feature would be build for L4 some day.
Since I don't know anything of Hebrew, I never checked for these in my L3 SESB or how (if at all) they show up in L4/5 - but I don't recall ever having seen this resource in the library. So even if Logos would recognize your licence, you could probably not use it. However, the message is strange.

Mick,
Syntax Search in WIVU-syntax didn't work in Logos 4 and 5, although they promissed to make it work (a couple of years ago!).
The Constiuency Trees however were nevertheless visible.

Okay - maybe someone else with the SESB resource bundle has seen these before and can bring some light into this.

I don't see it in hidden resources. What about display settings? I use the latest version of Logos 5 and Windows 8.1

From the way you're describing the problem, it 'sounds' like a license issue (since L5 doesn't think you own it?).
Regarding display, in the above example I have the first half checked off (sentence structure, etc).
I don't know if it's feasible for you to call Logos; did your SESB3 come from Logos (download) or the CD?
If it's a license problem, either Dave or Mark (on the forum) know how to force Logos to re-download the license db.

I can confirm this as an issue for me as well!
The first package I got (Sep 30, 2010) was the standalone SESB3 and I still have the CDrom for that too. However, searching my Logos5 library for the VIVU constituency Trees comes up with nothing! But, my Logos account recognizes that I indeed own a license to it.

Libronix Version:

wivucgraphs

wivucgraphs.lbxclvLooks like the same volume. I bought the old SESB3 CD and then later I think the larger package.
I haven't updated L5 to latest. I'm at Logos Bible Software 5.2 SR-1 (5.2.0.0052)

Now I see the L5 version as well in my L5. What I did, I searched for WIVU on my harddrive and put copies of all wivu*.* files into a new c:\scan folder.
This seemed not to work - and firing up the resource in Libronix either - since in order to free some GB I removed my Libronix resource folder to a backup disk which currently is "somewhere").
Thus I fired up filezilla and sucked two WIVU*.* files from the Logos ftp server.
My c:\scan folder thus looks like this:
No idea which of the six files really are needed (and none of them calls itself wivucgraphs), but commanding L5 to "Scan c:\scan" and restarting it did the trick - now there's a WIVU-morph tagged BHS and the Constituency Tree clause visualization ressource in my library:

I'm pretty sure the reason you're only seeing this if you've scanned local copies is that we are purposely not shipping this for Logos 4/5 yet. It's not supported yet. Just today I heard back from one of the database gurus behind the WIVU syntax materials, and I'm told new data will be coming early next year, and they gave me a sample to play with. In any event, whenever the data arrives, we'll get all this polished up for Logos 4/5.

Glad to hear an updated WIVU-version is coming.
Mick, thanks for your workaround. The WIVU Trees are visible again!

Hi Vincent, any news about WIVU Syntax? ...already... ....in Bellingham.... ...polishing...? :-)
Will there be a release announcement? (maybe for Logos 5.3?)

Vincent, I need you to send me an email about once every three months to remind me that you are at Logos and working hard on the nitty-gritty Hebrew stuff. Thank you for all that you do! On second thought, I'll just make myself a google reminder.
Team Vincent!! Hip, hip, hooray!

It's now june. Do you have any further information?
Thanks!

Running latest-ish L5 and still in business. Actually I had it in my standard layout and removed it due to recent updates to L5 becoming progressively more molassas-y (I think they're getting ready for molassas-L6).
Just for any additional clues, I haven't done any scanning, etc but do have a Libronix install on W7 (my main Libronix is in an XP box).

It is now June 19th, 2014 and I am still not able to see the WIVU Constituency Trees in Logos5, yet. Has, anyone heard anything, on the WIVU, from the database gurus, recently?

Does anyone know how to do that "scan" trick on the mac?

This works the same way on a mac but without the drive letter. I usually copy the resource directory (from a backup on an external drive) to my download directory when I do a clean install of logos. To scan that the command would be scan /Users/Username/Downloads (replace Username with your username). After typing the command in the command box close and restart Logos. For me the scan command works more reliably on the mac version than it did on the windows version[<:o)]

Except there is at least one open bug report of an older resource type that cannot be scanned into a library on the Mac, but it can on Windows. And no news on a fix from Logos yet.

Thanks but unlike my Windows machine, this doesn't find the WIVU Constituency trees on the mac.

I don't know where my files are located on the mac.
Interestingly I created a shortcut for this on Win and it replicated to mac, but when I try to open it on the mac I get this message attached.
Never mind, I can use it on Win. It's not as if I can search it. Only look at it.

I saw this thread and looked into my library, I am missing at least 5 other titles under the WIVU listing- is this something that happened under L5?
I have the CD's so hopefully can get this reinstalled, I also noticed the additional files are not listed on the FTP site.

I think this message will be generated regardless of the real licence if you never had the file. At least I imagine it's the same as if you build a PB on the PC and make a link to it and try to open it on the Mac - and scanning the right file will heal it.
You'll see a list of possible files further up in the thread in my screenshot.

I'm not able to use Syntax Search anywhere, but that's not a limitation of Logos..... [;)] That said, AFAIK what Hans (AJ) wrote in his post in 2013 in this thread is still true & there's no WIVU syntax search yet.

To further 'stir the pot', I was curious if the Logos app (iOS) would bring up WIVU. It lists both resources in the app library listing. The trees won't load (not surprised). But the morphology resource will load/display.
The morph popups match the Libronix resource; so there's some value, absent the trees/syntax-search.

While I was looking at the app version, I also re-tested the WIVU trees resource in Logos5. Earlier it had been molassas'y and so I hadn't linked it with my large layout.
The load is still molassas'y (adding a new tab), or moving a tab in a window.
However, it now links well and I have it perminently linked. On a window with 34 linked OT resources and four cited-by panels, WIVU re-paints right along with everyone else. It's quite impressive programming by Logos.

Strange checked my SESB cd's - could not find those resource files, I also own the GBS bundle- was this a later add on?

Hi David, I think your problem is not a sync or scan but a licensing problem. You should talk with the customer support. Last year I had the same issue. On Win the trees were visible on Mac not. After revising my license the existing files were updated and are working "fine" ("molassy" as Denise stated).

I too can see the Trees in the iPad Library. But not on Mac.
And this is odd:
One of those files is actually older on my computer than on the ftp site.

I wonder whether they ever plan to deliver what we've paid for...

Sometimes someone from Faithlife comes and says something quite oblique about WIVU-Constituency Tree problem, among other issues, and I recalled this word from Jeremiah: “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved” (Jer 8.20).
So disappointed after many summers.

Tarcizio, that was one of the best comments I've read in a while! Usually George has the keepers.
I supect the issue is that Logos has a long list of undelivered promises, most along the lines of tagging. So the issues keep stacking up with each new undelivered, and then the question is customers per undelivered. Richter is similar.

Totally agree, Denise. Down here in Brazil I am used to cope with cell companies and cable TVs changing their packages (fine new names) almost every year... and they insist we can have a great deal if we switch to...
I don't want to be unfair. Logos is a great product, and the proof is that we are here complaining! However, I am really considering new ideas.

Does anyone have the files for the "trees"- I ran my CD's still can't get them up! Called tech support- it was the only suggestion they had as well they do not have the files separated, because product is no longer available- I have a license just no file.
Can anyone help here?

Whyndell, that's curious. The vaunted Logos protection of books didn't last long, nor did I expect it. Ergo Libby.
That's oddness 1. Oddness 2 is that they were working on WIVUtrees just last December, looking at the files. And the Logos converted version was during Logos5.
Regarding sending, the file is 57meg. In theory, you want all 4; the other 3 are not too big. So, I assume some off-Logos transfer is needed?

Maybe someone got the wrong info- not sure- can't figure out why I cannot retrieve the file for this particular resource- when I scan my dvd it indicates I have them- but will not display.

Not sure about their working on them- but once again the rep assured me I have the license, which came not only with my dvd purchase several years back- but also with my upgrades and resource purchases since then.

As far as download- not sure I downloaded all files related to this resource off FTP site- scanned the folder and still not displaying trees- of course I'm not 100% confident I know which file to look for.

Here's what's in my Logos resources directory. Only the morph file from the older CD is still in there; the trees were updated in 2012, and then last December they were repairing the visualization resources per Rick (I assume that's the 2 new files below). Frankly, I'd call up technical again. You paid, they have, their support isn't working.
Oops ... the morphs were updated in 2012; the tree file is the old one.

Sent a 2nd request to Tech with your files to reference- see what happens- can't understand why I cannot locate them- thought for sure the resource folder would have them listed.

Mmm ... in between google and verizon, emailing is going to be a struggle. I was hoping one of our hebrew-ists had dropbox or similar?

Understand- haven't heard back from Logos for several days, will wait till Monday- try to call again. I cannot understand what happen to this file- did they withdraw this at some time? but it seems others have it, is everyone with the file running L6?
My library is extensive- L6 Collectors, w/ Baptist Dia. , Reformed Port.; Reformed, NT, OT, Gospels, Greek and Hebrew Bundles; etc.
