Sympathetic Highlighting in Serach Results

Is it possible to highlight the corresponding english words in the secondary bible to e.g. the hebrew results of a search in APFMA

Not being a hebrew scholar it takes a considerable amount of time to work out which words in the english realte to the hebrew text.

Perhaps a further word of explanation.

In doing a syntax search for "the garden of eden" in APFMA it comes back with 6 results, two of which are in Gen 3:24. now gen 3:24 has only one phrase "the garden of eden" so I am then looking at the hebrew to try to understand what the second one is.

You can't do that unfortunately, but you should be able to rerun the search in the ESV by changing the search all passages in AFAT to search all passages in ESV.

Oops, sorry. I noticed after I posted you were doing a syntax search, not a bible search. Therefore two questions: (1) Do you need to be doing a syntax search? (2) If so, what is your search and how are you creating it?

Depending how you do the search the verse might be listed twice but it is covering the same occurrence in different way. It is sometimes unavoidable with Syntax Search.

The best way to handle unfamiliar Hebrew is to link an interlinear like LHI with AFPMA. The gloss in LHI helps you out!

I think I have solved the problem.

In the syntax search I had ticked the "matching skip levels box at phrase level and therefore was getting a second hit in the hebrew. Removing the tick has given only one hit which matches what I was expecting.

As you will guess I am no hebrew scholar and relatively new to syntax searching.
