Indexing Problems in Logos 5 on Mac

Hello everyone,
I installed the free books yesterday. Great resources. However, since that download, my computer has had problems indexing. The blue icon comes up and it says that it is at 0%. I tried to shut it down and restart Logos. That didn't work. Then I shut down my Mac and restarted. No avail. I tried to rebuild index last night, but it stopped at 20%. It is trying index this morning and it is at 0%.
I also keep getting crash report notices after every shutdown on Logos 5 since the last update. Could this be related?
Any suggestions that don't recall calling Logos? I am on a MacBookPro (Late 2008) running Mavericks. Logos is 5.2.0.0091. I have never had this problem before.
Thanks,
Jim

I started to rebuild index at 8:30am (CST). I am now at 1%. We'll see how long this takes...

OK. It is 11:09am and it is still indexing but it never gets above 20%. Can someone help me with this problem?
Thanks

OK. It is 11:19am and I have finally reached 21%. That means this will take a long time...

We need to see logs, Jim but you will have to wait for the next time the indexer crashes.

It is 3:52pm (CST) and the indexer is at 97%.

It has finished the reindexing and is now updating with new files at 4:55pm (CST). Wow! I did not know it could take so long.
Problem fixed.

I hope my indexing on my Windows 7 gets fixed too. I thought it got done, but then again when I turned the computer off an then wanted to work this morning it downloaded Biblical Places Database and then it started the "First-time Indexing Underway" again. Computer has been on since 9am and it's 9:30EST and it's barely at 77% complete and I only own 3,816 resources. By the way, the indexing restarted itself again yesterday when it was at 29% after it downloaded a couple of Vyrso freebies. I remember that before the update we received not too long ago, I would download Vyrso books and it would index those only since my whole library had already been indexed before, but now I guess with the new update it has to reindex everything again. Not complaining, but there has to be a better way than using indexing.

Edit/PS: I may just have to call Logos and return the Perseus Collection, it's pretty much just sitting in my computer and not doing anything. I don't have time to hide books, especially when it won't hide all the ones you highlight and highlighting them is a pain too. Plus I think the indexer kicks on again when you try to hide books (if I remember correctly, I may be wrong).

This is where logs are so important. I recommend you enable permanent logging so you will have the detailed LogosIndexer.log should the problem repeat. However, if you have a LogosIndexerError.log please upload using the paperclip icon.
NB. The Biblical Places database download by itself does not require indexing, but Logos still puts up a tool tip that "Logos Bible Software is indexing". I think Logos should not mislead users and wait until it knows that resources need to be indexed (my log shows that it took 0.6s to conclude that "No resources need to be indexed" after it said that the "Software is Indexing").

It does not have to reindex everything, which is why the logs are important.
Incidentally, I'm pressing Logos to dispense with the indexing of bibles and morphology resources for the Bible Index (all resources are indexed for the Library Index). This affects a few hundred resources at present but could increase dramatically if Logos decide to treat Bible Commentaries with their own translation as Bibles! Resources with morphological content take significantly longer to index than any other resource, and I think users would welcome a shorter indexing time.

Appears 8 hours 25 minutes elapsed for rebuilding index. Personally experienced Logos 5.2 Beta 1 Library index rebuild taking nearly 10 hours in Oct 2013 on OS X.

D.H. Thanks for your input! (And everyone else)
I'll follow your advice on the permanent logs thing. For now, after 18 hours of indexing (not counting when indexing got to 29% and then restarted again) my library has finally finished the "first time" indexing process. Tedious, but finally done! I'm glad I didn't have to work on any actual lessons or research or else it may have been a set back on my work. I'm not ministering to any church now, so my time with Logos is spent mainly with devotionals or personal studies of certain books (e.g. Revelation and Major and Minor Prophets). I realized that when I was in the ministry I never really preach from the Old Testament that much. I did teach Revelation, but is such a fascinating book that I don't mind studying it and researching more on it. Over the course of my life I've held on to 3 different views, I'm still with the third one, which I won't mention to avoid theological discussions; but it's refreshing to study such a book along with the Old Testament ones. Now it's all a matter of getting hired to be able to share my new discoverings and help others study the Bible too.

Please upload any Error logs using the paperclip icon, as they can still be useful for this case.

The Logos indexer freezes (stops responding) after my computer goes to sleep and wakes up. Then I have to go into Activity Monitor and force quit it.

This is probably due to a known bug in Mono (the framework underlying L4/5 Mac). Logos will test a fix during the next beta cycle and then install it into the stable version. In the meanwhile, quit Logos prior to allowing your Mac to take a nap.

Unfortunately, the indexer starts over when launched again. Suggest connecting MacBook Air to power supply, change System Preferences so computer never sleeps and allow indexing to complete (ideally when not using MacBook Air for hours).
For future updates, may want to change program setting so can choose when to download updates, which will be followed by incremental indexing.
