Problem with L3 and L4 Help

I have a strange problem since I upgraded to LOGOS 4 and ran the Media only CD for LOGOS 3.

I wanted to have the new books in version 3 so I bought the upgrade DVD and the CD for version3 but now in both L3 and L4 I have times when I scroll that the resource shows up blank. It first happened in WORD Biblical Commentary on 1 John 3 but I also found that in the Textual Commentary by Metzger that some of the linked witnesses don’t show up but if I hover my mouse over them the popup window with the information does. This has never happened before and I can only guess that it has something to do with L4 and / or the Media CD for L3.

Again this is happening in both L3 and L4.

I have had a few resources, especially WBC's do the same, and each time it was because of a corrupted file. My fix was two-fold.

I had to run CHKDSK /F /V /R on my drive, and let it go. It can take many hours (do it overnight)
I had to manually delete the wbc file in question and then re download it.

I have no idea why this seems to happen to the WBC files, perhaps they are in some way unstable? I don't know, but this has been my fix with L3 on at least three occasions.

I found something interesting. Version 4 was not working on my laptop. When I tried to open it I keep getting an error and Windows asking me if I wanted to search for a solution on-line or close program. After trying both options over and over again I just deleted it and found that my resources in Logos 3 were working properly again.I went to my desktop and opened up version 4 to see if it still had the blank spots and other problems and it did although it did open up unlike on my laptop. I closed Version 4 and opened up version 3 to check the same thing and the blank spots were there and the other problems so I decided to try and delete version 4 to see if this would fix the problem and guess what?........ IT DID! Version 3 resources are working fine once again. What is going on with version 4?

p.s. I was going to try the advice given above but didn't have time till today and that's when I found L4 not working on my laptop so I never did try the above but didn't need to after getting rid of L4.

So now you have no L4. Are you going to re-install it?

I don't know how L4 has affected L3 unless you have an L3 resource folder (in Resource Paths) pointing to the L4 Resource folder?

I don't know why this happened either all I know is that when I installed L4 I didn't change anything I just let it do its thing and after it was installed I had these problems and then after I deleted L4 they went away.

I am not a big fan of L4 anyway but was going to give it a few months try with L3 still running. I will try to reinstall it again but only on one computer.

OK, I just reinstalled L4 on my laptop and I tried both L3 and L4. They SEEM to be working fine. I will not install L4 on my desktop till I am sure it works correctly but so far I am happy that I see no problems. I am still wondering why this happened on two separate computers.
