download problems on 2nd computer

I have my logos library on my desktop as well as on my notebook. Till the 25th of November downloads of updates and resources went fine on both, and then updates didn't download anymore automatically on my note book. Has anyone encountered this problem also? And is there a solution to it. Due to the fact that I have to be flat on my back and sitting is not possible for more than 5 minutes, I am more dependent for all my study on the note book. So if there is any solution to this problem, please share that with me.

We need to know more: what OS? What version of Logos? You might need to post logs, but let's start here.

I use logos 5 for windows, and have the latest version of iy. On the 25th of November the update download on resources didn't goy down;paded on my notebook and the data update didn;t either. My book order of yesterday and other resource updates today downloaded on my desk top, but again not on the notebook. I can't understand this for it had worked perfectly on both till the 25th of November. The notebook is an Asus, and isný an android device.

I found out what OS means and the answer is windows 8.1

I know that you are using Logos 5, but I need to know the exact version. I am a Mac user, and don't know if I can't tell you how to find that. "About" perhaps?

Your software is out of date. If the command "update now" doesn't work, please follow the link in my signature line to manually download the newer engine. Out of curiosity: do you know if you turned off auto updates for your software?

No the automatic download option is on. The update now command isn't working and I don't understand how to manually download the new engine. When I click on install in your signature, there is a whole lot of info thee, but how do I know I get the new engine? Apparently there has been an update which is most likely installed on my desktop, but not on the notebook. Can you enlighten me?

The link in Alabama's signature takes you to the page shown below:
Click on the "Download for Windows" link which will download the setup program. Run that and your Logos software should be updated to the latest version.
We then need to see whether this addresses the problems you are having with downloading resource.

I did and got the reply that set up can/t download the file. I hate windows 8 all this rigmarole started when I updated to windows 8,1

i don't think it is a generic problem with Windows 8. I, and others on the forum, are running Logos on Windows 8.1 without any problems.
it sounds as though your notebook may be having problems connecting to the Logos download servers.
Can you describe your network configuration and whether you are running any firewall software? Particularly where this is different between your notebook and desktop computers.

My notebook runs on the ziggo router network and my desktop is directly connected to ziggo network. I use on both computers Norton internet security

Is this a home network under your control or a corporate one?
Logos are working on changing the servers from which updates are delivered - see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/77319.aspx and http://community.logos.com/forums/t/77566.aspx
I wonder if you have controls set on your firewall which are prohibiting access to these sites
Does the history in Norton Internet Security indicate any problems in accessing Logos servers?
