Has anyone donated their print books to a church or public library now that we have them on Logos? If so how did you figure the value of the books for tax purposes?

I did a few years ago. I looked at Amazon and picked the cheapest used book of a similar quality as the estimated value.

This year I donated well about 1,500 paper books to a local mission who distributes them to various Bible schools and pastors in third world countries. I didn't even think of asking about getting a receipt for them although it sounds like a good idea. I would suggest that you look at US organizations that do the same thing and I'm pretty sure they would have experience with this.

Do any UK-based Logos users know of any UK charities that do a similar thing?

I'd love to have a clear-out of books to the glory of the Lord! [:)]

try "Its deductible". it will probably save you more money than its cost

I have sent many to California Christian College in Fresno. They are a very small Christian college and do not have a library budget to speak of so they are very appreciative of any donations. I did what someone else has suggested in going to Amazon and finding the used book price and using that.

If any logos users in NC or FL want to donate their books, I know of at least one individual who would be blessed by the donation :)
