The price seemed right, so I invested [8-|] Thanks Bill.
BTW: Glad that Bonnie is doing well. Will continue to pray.

Thanks, Jack. Since you mention Bonnie & since I'd asked for prayers two years ago, I'll praise God with an update. She's a walking miracle. Her oncologist's staff (many of whom are now her quilting buddies) recently let slip that when she entered treatment they expected her to last about 9 months. (That was 2 yr ago, at Thanksgiving last month). When her lung cancer metastasized, they thought her odds dropped significantly. Once adenocarcinoma reaches metastasis, it just keeps spreading until its host dies. Hers had spread from the nearest lymph node to the next nearest lymph node and to 6 nearby ribs--4 of which had fractured (from coughing!).
Suddenly, God began to answer our prayers. Today, only the main tumor remains--there's no other detectible cancer in her body. And the main tumor is now smaller than when it was discovered. Maintenance chemo (every 3 weeks for as long as it works) continues to keep it contained.
How well is she doing? At her pre-chemo appt last week, her oncologist said she's doing so well he'd even considered stopping maintenance chemo. (We elected not to stop, since none of us knows whether or not that's what God is using to hold the cancer at bay.) From her oncologist, a pessimistic, non-believing, scientist, that assessment had us on air for a week. One week of chemo-induced fatigue (significant reduction in red blood cells to carry oxygen for energy) out of every 3 weeks seems a small price to pay for life.
God has been so good to us. Praise God! And thanks for your prayers!
Grace & Peace,
Bill

What does he do when medical science has no explanation for her progress? We also need to pray for him.

Hi Jack,
When we 1st met him, we thought he had the personality of a brick. When he wouldn't pray with us as we began that journey, 2 years ago, we were tempted to ask for another oncologist. (So many others had, that cancer center staff asked us to give him a chance--BEFORE we said anything.) But after prayer, we decided to remain with him & pray for him as our witness to him through this journey. So far, he's developed a personality. And he's genuinely perplexed as to why she's doing so well. Yes, we need to keep praying for him. [:)]
Praise God!
Grace & Peace,
Bill

I had prayed for you and Bonnie a number of times in the past, but haven't recently, so am glad for your post which reminded me to pray again .... and I most definitely will!
