It seems unrealistic to expect the purchaser to check for changes in the list without a highly visible notification that the list has changed. It I were the arbitrator, I would come down on the side of everyone getting the 7 books in question.

Your point is well taken, and well stated. I agree.

    All,

I believe there are only 499 instead of 500 resources listed in the current Mega Pack.  Let me explain...

On the December 22nd version of the 500 Book Mega Pack web page there are 496 resources listed based on my count. At that time the grouped resources were still listed as sets (where applicable) with the quantity of volumes indicated. For example "The Works of Arminius" was listed once but indicated there were 4 volumes in the set.

On the December 24th version of the web page there are 499 resources listed based on my count. At this point it appears all resources are listed individually even if they are normally part of a set. Ray at Logos commented on the change to the way the Mega Pack resources were listed in his December 23 post.

So for both versions of the web page it would appear we are short at least one resource.  So I started to dig further because I thought I was short at least 4 resources based on the prior listing.

Now, here is where it gets a little weird--I hope I don't lose anyone. On the December 22 version of the web page, it included the 7 resources that are no longer listed on the December 24 version of the web page. These are the 7 resources that there has been considerable discussion about over the last few days. So, if the 496 resources listed on the December 22nd version of the product page have 7 resources taken away, it would leave us with 489 resources. But the 24th version of the product page has 499 resources listed.

The difference?  The 10 titles that make up the "Works of Robert J. Breckinridge".  They are listed individually on the 24th version of the page, but are not listed individually or as a set on the 22nd version of the Mega Pack product page.  Rosie's spreadsheet posting (first column) would concur that the Breckinridge set is not included in the 21/22nd version of the product page; however, the 10 individual titles are included on the 23rd version of the product page as she has identified.

I only discovered the missing works after creating a comparison spreadsheet between the old version of the product page and the new version of the product page.  When I figured out what the 10 different resources were (plus the 7 I already knew about) I checked my update history in L5.  I had done a screen print of the resources that had updated on December 20th when I purchased the 500 Book Mega Pack.  Listed were all ten of the individual titles for the Breckinridge set.  So, in my final analysis I received 506 resources when initially I thought I was short changed.

However, from what I can tell the current 500 Book Mega Pack only has 499 resources listed.

I am very, very, very appreciative for the generously discounted bundle of resources Logos has put together.  Based on what was in my wish list alone, I saved about $200 by purchasing this dynamically priced package plus I received lots of other goodies.  (I already owned about 140 of the resources in the Mega Pack.)  But to be honest, the amount of confusion surrounding this deal and the resources is a bit painful.  Hopefully lessons will be learned and Logos will not be turned off from offering something like this deal again next Christmas.

Wayne thank you for your work on on this issue and its explanation. I feel certain that Bob and Logos will make it right.

Maybe they will allow each of us to select our own free set of books - any set we desire. They definitely do not owe "this" to us, but it is nice to dream. [H]

I'm bumping this in the hope that people are working at Logos today and that this can be addressed:

Bob & everyone at Logos, I'm interested in the same deal as originally advertised and that everyone who bought a few days ago got. The clock and the headline at the top of the page said I had until Dec. 31 to get it, but from what we've heard here that's changed. Please restore the 6 or 7 books that were pulled from the package and extend the same offer to everyone who purchases the package.

This is a small thing, but you've made good with much bigger mistakes in the past, so I don't think it's too much to ask for. In any event, have a great Christmas!

Please don't penalize the people who decided to wait a few days before clicking through on this deal.

I'm glad other people are bumping this too so that I don't come across as too obsessed with it. [:P]

I emailed Ray and Bob yesterday, and the former said he would get back to me on it. If I hear anything new I'll post here--but that's likely to be a while as I'm mostly asleep during Logos's business hours. Also, it looks like the holidays are slowing down us getting a response on this very time-bound matter.

How do I tell which list of books I did get?

(Sorry if this has already been addressed. My eyesight is very poor so I have not read the whole thread.)

The product page is now correct. There was an error on it a week ago that has since been corrected.

    UPDATE:

Thank you for your patience as I sorted through this. The holiday kept many key personnel away from the office through the middle of the week which slowed me down a little in my effort to understand what happened. Here's what we're going to do.

If you purchase the Mega Pack, and would like to also have the 7 titles that were inadvertently listed last weekend, you can email customerservice[at]logos[dot]com, and we will unlock them for you.

To be clear, we didn't subtract 7 titles from the Mega Pack. We substitute these for 7 others so that there would be less overlap with our base packages. And we're not even going to make you chose between the original 7 and the new 7. If you want, you can have all 14.

As Dan explained in his tell-all blog post yesterday, this promotion was a late addition, so I apologize for the confusion surrounding it.
