Hi there,
I'm trying to read Peter Craigie's Ugarit and the Old Testament on my iPad, and it can't render the Ugaritic characters. Is there a way to change the font? The Ugaritic looks fine on my laptop.
Thanks in advance.
Can you post a screenshot of the same page on your laptop? My suspicion is that your iPhone doesn't have the font to display the characters.
Hi George,
Should've done that to begin with, I suppose. Here's how it looks on my laptop. I know that iOS is quite restrictive in not allowing users to add fonts to the operating system, but app developers can use their own fonts from what I understand. I assumed since Logos has Ugaritic resources it would support them on iOS. So, I'm not sure if it's a development issue (maybe I'm the first one trying to read cuneiform in Logos on an iPad??) or if I need to somehow change font settings within the app.
Thanks!
The display is as I suspected. I don't know how I managed to miss this resource since I have almost everything dealing with Ugaritic. I still think the lack of the proper font is the problem. If anything this confirms it. When the OS lacks the proper font it makes a guess as to what would most nearly fit.
Welcome to the forums! [:)]
It might be good for you to amend your subject line with the prefix BUG: to catch logos attention. I know this issue has popped up on the desktop side recently...
Good idea. Thanks!
Ugarit is currently not supported on mobile devices.
