If Logos is performing some background function such as indexing, you will experience slower than normal speeds.

Logos has always been a slow program. I have a brand new computer, and I still get the "Not Responding" message when I do something (but it is not as bad as it was on my old computer), and I have a more powerful computer than you do.Christian Martinez said:My computer is a HP pavilion touchsmart 11 windows 8.1( windows 8 without the update) 64 bit amd a4 processor. is always frizing. how do i fix this or if this is a hardware problem?
It is part hardware, and it is also part on how you have Logos setup. If you could post some of your logs, we could (we does not include me) see where some of the bottlenecks is happening.

You must enable logging first. Here is the wiki article: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

The amount of RAM and HDD space might also be of help in identifying problems. I am using a Lenovo Win 8.1 with an 11" screen. It seems to run LOGOS 5 with no problems. I usually am running another Bible Software program [:(] and a word processing program concurrently with LOGOS 5, also without problems. The above information along with LOG files will provide hints to the MVPs as to what is happening.

From this log you should undo all compatibility mode settings on logos.exe (via right click Properties menu)

If you *really* want a smooth Logos, you need something like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrfaber/247946146/

Incidentally, now that version 4 of the mobile suite has been launched, I find several tasks to be much more convenient on the mobile. For one thing is is much, much faster.
