Recommendation: mytag or Collections in Library Criteria Search
I saw a thread similar to this, but I thought it would be helpful to start a new one. For my organization of resources in Logos, the Library on iOS devices is not useful when trying to track down resources that I have already catalogued via "mytags" or Collections in Logos 5. For resources that I know I will use, I have created multiple "mytags," which I use in the search criteria of my collections. This makes the Collections completely dynamic and very functional. Typically, the search criteria in my Collection in Logos 5 is mytag:"sometagname." On my iOS device, I can use author:"someauthor" or title:"sometitle" in the Library search field, and the Library returns the correct results. Unfortunately, the mytag:"sometagname" does not work.
Thus, I would recommend that either 1) Collections be implemented for the iOS Library or 2) mytag searching be added to the iOS devices. Although Collections would be preferable, I know that I can accomplish something similar with mytag.
Does anyone have an idea if these features are coming to iOS devices? Does anyone have a different solution for criteria searching in the Library? I've tried Favorites, but that quickly breaks down. Thanks.
Dave

Graham,
Thanks for your reply. I have tried mytag:something and am getting erroneous results. Some mytags return partial results (even if the resources are available on the iOS device), and other mytags don't return any results (even though the resources are available on the iOS device). Could you check to see if various mytag searches on your iOS match the available resources and mytag results found in Logos 5? Mine are so irregular that I assumed this had not been implemented. Maybe I have something else wrong with my configuration. Thanks.

I've just checked and they match (allowing for resources available on Logos 5 and not on iOS such as PBs)
Can you post screenshots showing the differences between iOS and L5?

Graham,
It looks like I have a corruption in my Library Catalog. In Logos 5, I deleted a specific "mytag," allowed the Library Catalog to update, and then re-added the same "mytag." Once I did this, the resource appeared on my iOS device with the mytag:sometag search criteria. I really don't want to go through my Library and retag every resource. I tried a reindex of my bible resources, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Do you know of a way where I can rebuild my Library Catalogue? Thanks.

Interesting - but the fact that information showed correctly in your L5 library suggests that that was working correctly but the information on Logos servers which was syncing to your iPad was incorrect.
Updating the info in your L5 environment would have synced up to the servers and - it appears - corrected the problem.

I can understand that!

It would require deleting some files and I don't immediately know which they are.
Which version of Logos 5 are you running and - in particular - are you running the beta?
Once we know that we can cross-post in the relevant Logos forum and get some more insight on this

Graham,
I am running Logos 5.2 SR-3 (5.2.0.0091).
It does look as though the problem is on the Logos servers. When I deleted and added the tag, it appeared to update the catalog on my Logos and, subsequently, on the Logos servers. Thus, it worked on my iOS device. Looks like I need to find a way to force my local Library Catalog to the Logos servers. I'm assuming if I rebuild my local Library Catalog, it will then synchronize everything again to Logos. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Dave
I have cross-posted at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/79699.aspx
I'm not sure enough of how to fix this and so hopefully we will get some extra insight over there.

Hi David
I don't know if you are tracking the cross-posted thread but Mark Barnes suggested executing the "sync repair" command on your Logos 5 installation (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/79699/557705.aspx#557705)
Do you want to give that a go and see what happens?
