Where is the illustrations tab?

I recently upraded to logos 4 and am for the most part very satisfied. I realize that there is learning time process involved here in learning. The passage guide in version 3 is great and easy to use. I really like to use the illustrations tab in version 3 to look for interesting subject matter for sermon illustrations. However, I am not too thrilled that the illustrations tab is not there in the logos 4 version. Yes, I can find the illustrations in the library, however I dont want to search out each book manually. Did I miss something? I am glad that I still have Logos 3 installed on my puters. I read some of the post concerning the illustrations...guess I am just slow...if there is an illustrations tab in Logos 3, shouldnt that be carried over into Logos 4...thanks for your understanding and any wisdom that can help in this matter...
Many blessings to you all,
danp

What you need to do is create a collection of illustrations and make it a tab in a named layout, The wiki has directions,
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

The wiki is an editable website of online documentation and information on Logos 4 which is maintained by the Logos user community. You can view it at http://wiki.logos.com

Dan,
No problem there...you can just go to:
After you've done that....you should have this screen:
Once you've created your PG with your collection, then it should show up just like V3 when you run a PG on your passage.

ok...getting a little frustrated....I have the illustrative books picked out in the "plus these resources" I missed a step somewhere...how do I finalize this? or make it a collection? the same page keeps coming up in the illustration collection of letting me choose which books, however I cant seem to get this over to the passage guide...I did the steps of putting it in the guide, however, when I click the illustration tab under collections it is just the illustrations page (blank) with place for me to type in a reference...wow...sometimes I just wonder? Its got to be something really simple that I am missing!

Robert, these are brilliant graphical instructions. Are you posting these on the wiki?

Donovan,
I didn't post these because I'd assume that Philip Spitzer beat me to it...I got the idea of doing these and numbering the steps from him.
I'll do a nice fresh understandable set and try and post them there...

What software are you using to add the red comments/lines etc. over the screen shot? [Yes, I know I'm so old I remember when you could turn in papers with nothing but text!]

Martha,
I use "Snagit" it's free;
CORRECTION: Snatit 7 is free...
Techsmith is giving away a free copy of Snagit 7 in hopes that you upgrade to v9.
Here is a link to v7.2.5 from Old apps.
http://www.oldapps.com/download.php?oldappsid=SnagIt725.exe
From Techsmith:
After you install the program; open it and go to
Help>enter software key and type in your name and software key:

Want the latest version? After installing SnagIt 7.2.5, you will be
eligible to upgrade to the current version, SnagIt 9, with special
customer upgrade pricing discounts.
NOTE: the upgrade to the current v9 is 24.99Also, Jing does this and it's free also; Philip Spitzer uses that.

Thank you - I'm trying it out and my initial response is positive.

Logos fielded Logos 4 without the Illustrations tab in the Passage Guide. It is still in development. According to the Logos web site the feature is "coming very soon". I spoke with Customer Service today and they state the developers are behind schedule, and cannot give a date when the feature will be available. Very disappointing.

I just tried it in a general search and as a collection in the passage guide. In both cases, I can pull up the illustrations that are in the resources library ... or at least the ones I chose to test. I didn't have a true illustrations file paralleling the sermons file to test.
