Collections pane should remember status when saved in a layout

I'm in RC2. I'm working my way through a collection that I sorted by publication date, going through the resources from oldest to newest.

Right now when I save the collection pane in a layout, it doesn't reopen back the way I set it up, but goes back to the default settings. When saved in a layout, I'd like the collection pane to "stick" to the collection I had opened, with the data columns I chose, in the order I placed them.

I am a bit confused (not exactly a new experience for me). Don't collections always sort by title? What do you mean that you saved the collection pane in a layout? Do you mean the pane for creating collections? Or do you mean the Library Windows with your collection selected?

Is there a way to have the Library window show a single collection? Is there a way I can get a drop-down list of collections from the Library window? That would be a better way to do what I want.

My collection is resources with introductory material on Matthew. It's partly rule-defined with lots of hand-weeding.

That's what I thought, but I was not sure. Why not add your collection to the Passage Guide?

I get annoyed having to reset the View each time, so I support this suggestion.
