Problem with a personal book and a saved layout

I have a daily Bible reading plan that created a personal book with that I use. I added the book to a layout view. When I open the layout after closing it, all is fine. However, if I go to another machine and try to load the layout, I get this error message:
"You don't have a license to view this resource" and then below that it says: "Sorry we couldn't find that page" (Error 404)
But if I go back to my library and find the book and reload it, all is fine. Except when I switch machines again. If I go back to the first machine again, then I get the same error message again.
So... why can Logos load the personal book from the machine that saved the layout, but it can't load that book from the layout on another machine?
Hope this makes sense and thanks for any help.

The reason is that compiled personal books don't sync. The second book can't open the book, because the book isn't on your machine! Only the metadata in the personal book builder does. You will need to either compile the book on the second computer, or you will need to manually move the compiled file.
Here is a tip on using dropbox to sync the .docx files to make compiling easier: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/37105.aspx?PageIndex=1

Cool. [:)]
FYI - Logos IS working on syncing personal books. The last word was that it might be "sooner than your think"... but I wouldn't hold your breath. It <may> or <may not> come in 2014. The solution they are working on will have copies of the compiled files reside "in the cloud" on their servers. That isn't a cheap proposition for them.

Given that your solution with Dropbox works perfectly, I don't need another solution. But for those that do, they could charge for extra storage space, I suppose.

You do for two reasons:
- The present solution requires to to compile twice (or more if you have additional computers).
- The present solution prohibits personal books on mobile devices.
Both of those limitations will be eliminated with the solution Logos is working on.

We have been told that they will not charge for this feature.

Ahhh... hadn't thought about that. I stand corrected.
