Scripture References From Babylonian Talmud?
I'm going through my monograph resources looking for expositions on Bible passages, and pasting them into my Bible notes as hyperlinks. I would like to do this for all relevant passages of the talmud that are expositions on any portion of the Old Testament. The problem is that the resource is so large it would be way too time consuming to do. Does anyone know of a clever way to get all the Bible references listed out.
In particular it would be great if there was a way to search for only expositions of portions of the OT, rather than just references. Does anyone know of an outside resource that would do this? Or is there a commentary series that does this?

Not easy - the first problem is the terse or almost criptic nature of the Talmud itself - it is almost designed to require exhaustive study.
Also the base folio editions then not to have scripture references - you need them in the modern edition. I use the Artscroll - in printed form.
You might like to investigate the HaMafteach (the Key) which is to my knowledge the first comprehensive subject index translated into English.

If there is a scripture reference index - I don't know of one.

Lee, I was afraid someone was going to mention that.
If you look at the Etherial library and then look at the CNTTH or the Lightfoot collection, as far as I can see, the index above referenced, is missing. I sure wish Logos could 'communicate'. Or maybe I'm (happily) wrong.

Thanks for the info all! Do you guys know if there is a contextual commentary that gives the references whenever the talmud has something substantial about a particular Scripture reference?
I see Lightfoot's work, but I know his commentary is only on a few books of the NT, and was hoping for something a bit broader. Something that would cover the whole Bible (or maybe just OT since that's all the talmud references), and have links to the talmud when it had a substantial expostion on a OT portion.
I'm mostly just trying to make this resource useful to me. I purchased it on CP long ago and haven't ever read it.

Liam, I've read this thread, but I'm still not sure what I'm going to say is useful for your purposes. The Soncino translation of the Babylonian Talmud uses footnotes to indicate Biblical references related to the Talmud text. The Soncino is freely available at: http://halakhah.com/
I have been working on a Python routine to automatically convert the Soncino text into a form from which I can make a suitable docx file for a PB so that the scripture references will hyperlink. My main purpose is to have the ability to click a reference and see the relevant Bible text while reading the Talmud. I like Neusner's translation, but he doesn't identify Bible references as far as I can see.

I imagine the JPS commentaries would mention the Talmud if it has something important to say. There aren't that many volumes, though.

I started something like this with a Mind Mapping program linking Bible verses to Logos resourses.
Just started so its not very large yet.

If anyone returns this way, on the subject of the OT vs the Talmud, remember that the CitedBy tool in Logos can link the OT citations in the Talmud to the OT.
I'd forgotten this. One of my rabbit trails was looking at Psa 40.7, where the hebrew uses two words associated with writing materials. The translations bounce around on the joyous occasion. But the CitedBy showed how at least some Babylon-based rabbis (likely) viewed the translation.
