Logos4Indexer.exe problem

My initial installation of Logos 4 from DVD went fine. And with RoadRunner Turbo I downloaded the 6.2gb of Library files (for Silver) in about 4 hours. But, when I opened the program I kept getting an error box "Logos4Indexer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close...". I clicked on the problem-box for more information and felt that it just was not finding the Logos4Indexer.exe file. So, I opened WIndows Explorer and in "Tools - Folder Options - View " I selected "Show Hidden Files and Folders". Then using Windows Explorer I went to the folder where I had found the file using Windows Search. I right-clicked on the file and Created Shortcut. Then I copied the shortcut to my desktop and double-clicked on it to see if it would Run or not. The Logos4Indexer.exe file loaded and ran perfectly. It took a little over 3 hours to complete.
I think there "may" be an erroneous pointer in a "config" file somewhere. I should note that during my installation steps I accepted "Default" wherever applicable.

Steve, thanks for reporting the problem and its fix! This should be of interest to the developers, so I wonder if you have any log files from the initial attempts to run the indexer? If you don't know what I'm talking about it's likely you don't have logs, but see http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging for future reference.

Dave, being a newbie at this I was not aware of how to create the log file until you told me. Too bad because that may have provided helpful information. I created a logfile now but everything seems to be working fine and so it probably won't help.

RoadRunner Turbo is measurably faster. While I subscribe to it to gain the additional upload speed (I create streaming video and upload them for our church), the download speeds are faster too.
Using http://speedtest.peakview.rr.com/ I have clocked my avg download speeds around 9,000kbps. More importantly to me, I have clocked upload speeds of over 900kbps. And "no", I do not work for TimeWarner or RoadRunner. In fact, if DSL was available to me at that speed, because of the price I would probably switch to DSL.

My apologies, I meant to answer your question with download times for Logos4 installation. It took about 4 hours to download the library files for my Silver edition. I believe that was listed as over 6gb of files.

OK -- I thought it was a utility and it is an ISP, so there should be no interference with L4's download method.
