BUG: App Download Issue (5.2 SR-4, MAC)

I decided to switch one of my installations over to beta. I used the command "set update channel to beta" and the download began immediately. The last I checked, the download was at about 50%. I purchased a Vyrso book in the meantime. When I returned to my computer, I was told that the download was finished and Logos was ready to restart... But the app download apparently never completed. When I started the app back up, the download began again at 0%.

Sounds like an error Logos are trying to fix (in Windows) but are you on a beta version or stable? Logs would help.

I WAS on stable, hence the post in this forum. Logos was in the process of downloading the beta version when I had the trouble.

The mention of a Vyrso purchase had me wondering what download restarted at 0%. So the software download restarted at 0% and succeeded? Did you also get the Vyrso download, which probably played a part in what happened.

- logos notified me that indexing had begun.

Honestly, I don't really care about this issue. There are other users, however, who have very limited & metered Internet. To them, this would be heartbreaking. [:s]

Yes. The app was downloading. It apparently got aborted. A Vyrso book downloaded successfully in the midst of the program download and began to index after my restart. At that point, the software download began again (at 0%) and was successful?

Yes, the Vyrso book did download and index. I think that my purchase must have initiated its download which consequently aborted the software download. Is that your hypothesis too?

I tried to reproduce on my laptop (the other was my desktop)... but no luck. Is that good or bad? [8-|]

Yes, although it is more common to abort indexing in favour of a resource download with "Automatically Download Updates" being allowed.

Good! It could prove expensive purchasing Vyrso books during a program download[:)]
My recommendation is usually to disallow "Automatically Download Updates" in Program Settings because it gives you control of when to download. But I still think that this is a bug.

This happened again... I don't know if the logs will be of help... I grabbed them after Logos restarted. 5.2b Beta 4 (trying to download Beta 5).
I should have taken Dave's advice... but then we wouldn't know that this is still an issue! [:S]

The Logos.log tells the story, but only one Indexer launch is captured (the last). Logos should consider multiple Indexer logs, or not overwriting, in situations like this so that we have a complete history.
