All that happens when I click Edit is that the name disappears.

Which OS and browser?  Does hitting Ctrl+F5 resolve the issue for you?

I've tried it on Windows, Mac and iPad where all seem to work just fine.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,

I'm not sure if you read the forums through an RSS feed which may just give the bare posting text without the signature footer, but on the forum webpage I can see the OS in fgh's second signature line that reads: Mac Mini late 2010 8GB RAM 10.6.8 which makes me think she is using Mac OS version 10.6.8 and very probably (it may have been featured in another post by her) the built-in Safari browser in whatever may be the usual version running on a OS 10.6.8 Mac Mini.

    Hope this helps,

    Mick

    Thanks Mick.

We had someone try it out on Mac 10.6 with Safari 5.1.10 (at least for that OS version it appears to be the latest browser version) and they couldn't repro there either.

    Thanks again,
    Mike

    Good deduction.[:)] Thanks.

Ctrl-F5 is a Windows command. In every other program except Logos, the reload command on Mac is Cmd-R, and, no, it definitely doesn't help. It reverts all sorts of things to default, like in the other bug report I made.

    How weird!

    This is what I see:

    After clicking Edit:

Just to be sure, I paused Ghostery and DNTM as well, and that didn't help either. And the computer was restarted some hours ago.

Toby's missing that I was referring to the "International" version of a resource (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/80049/560711.aspx#560711) made me think: could the difference between what you're seeing and what I'm seeing have to do with me using a Swedish UI?

Still seeing if I can figure out how to get my Mac to a Swedish UI to verify.  As you might have noticed I'm a Windows person.  ;D

And I found the equivalent to a "Ctrl+F5" in Mac Safari is to hold down the shift key and hit the refresh UI button on the browser.  Does this fix it for you?  If it doesn't is it only that item that doesn't edit correctly?  Just trying to narrow things down to figure out how to repro it here.

Looking at the UI in your screenshot it appears that some other things aren't showing up as well besides the textbox for editing the name.  Which makes me think there might be a JavaScript error for that edit button.

    Thanks,
    Mike

We were not able to reproduce this when we changed the Mac UI to Swedish.  Though I don't know if anything else besides the OS being in Swedish for this to occur.  Tried various zoom settings as well and nothing that looks like what you're seeing.

Perhaps there is a JS error.

    Option + Command + C

Should show the console JavaScript errors, refresh the page and try hitting the edit link again.  Are there any listed there (besides the 404 for the missing image)?

If you don't have the developer mode on you can turn it on by checking:
Safari -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Show Develop menu in menu bar

Thank you for helping us narrow this down,
    Mike

The mystery deepens. As soon as I added the Developer menu, displayed the error window, and shift-reloaded, everything started looking normal again! Nice, but mysterious.

Perhaps the shift-reload only works in Developer mode? Despite my 22 years with Macs I've never needed such a command before, except in Logos, so I wouldn't know. In fact, when you first wrote Ctrl-F5, I didn't even remember that that made it a special 'clear cache' command. I just thought of Ctrl as the Windows equivalent to Cmd, like it usually is.

-- Oh no, the bug wasn't that gone after all. It's back again.[:'(] And no amount of shift-reloads seems able to get rid of it this time. And no error messages.
