How many open pre-pubs do you have?

How long is your open pre-pub list? I'm currently at 25, but I'm assuming there are others here with many more. I know Logos doesn't provide deadlines for when to expect things, but surely books like the Oxyrhynchus Papyri and the Lewis and Scott Latin Dictionary (once it gets through CP), will take a rather long time to edit and tag.
Is there a saturation point where Logos has to slow down offering new pre-pub's, and finish working through the backlist? Or should we get used to waiting a year or more for orders to be fulfilled (ex: Wittgenstein's Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, ordered March 29, 2013 and set to be published around March 2014).
Please note: I write this not to complain about how long it takes, but to get a better understanding of how the process works.

I'm surprised that Wittgenstein is taking so long. It's English and German (both Latin alphabets) and doesn't have a lot of outside references so the tagging should be relatively simple. I remember using this in a philosophy class in college with Dr Nicholas Wolterstorff.
As regards your question about the number of open pre-pubs, I don't know how many I have. The total value is over $5,000, and my CP bids are over $3,000.

I'm at 104. If they all come at once, I'll be bankrupt [:(].

They've been scaling up extensively for some time. A lot of work is done by third parties on contract, so the process scales fairly well.

Remember that a lot of the waiting time is for there to be enough orders to make production possible (the "gathering interest" stage). But after the prepub closes (the "under contract stage") can vary considerably. The longest tend to be ones that Logos are creating, rather than just republishing (e.g. the infamous Hebrew pronunciation add-in (six years and counting), and Vos's Reformed Dogmatics (2.5 years) which they're translating into English for the first time). My third longest is for a book due in 2011 that's still not published.
I checked through my open prepubs where a shipping date is given. The length of time from my ordering (which I usually do within a day or two of the announcment) and the shopping dates are as follows:
- 1 year: 2 orders
- 10 months: 1 order
- 8 months: 2 orders
- 6 months: 2 orders
- 3 months: 1 order
- 2 months: 2 orders
So, I reckon it's pretty hard to predict how long it will take!

I'm somewhere around 75, not counting CP. My oldest that's in production was ordered 8/31/2010 - not sure how long it's been in production or why it's taken so long. My oldest that's gathering interest is from 6/17/2010. 4 are from 2011/2012. The rest are all less than a year old.

I have 55 "Under Contract" and 37 "Gathering Interest." My oldest is Hebrew Audio Pronunciations, July 2010, but most under contract is from the last 3 quarters of 2013. Only 2 from 2010 and 4 from 2012. The reason I have that many is if I'm remotely interested in it I "buy" it then to lock in the lowest price, then when it gets a ship date, evaluate whether I'm still interested.

I currently have 80. Why did you have to bring this up. I try not to think of it. [:S]

I have 7 open pre-pubs. I had recently had 6 more but decided to cancel them. I'm trying to limit myself and also utilize my current library a bit better. I had the Princeton theological journals and I keep going back and forth on them, but unfortunately this prepub probably won't move quickly any time soon (so I guess I don't have to worry about it).
Nice question Greg.

I have 38 Pre-Pubs (although 3 or 4 will "ship" tomorrow 1.15.14) with a price tag of just over $1,000 and 26 CP's with a price tag of around $650. My longest production PP is Steve Runge's Romans Commentary. July 31, 2010.

11 PP orders for a total value of $729 - and I've worked hard since late Spring 2013 to minimize them. I'm unsure about a couple of them. Pretty expensive per volume (7 of them are multi-volume)! How many Community Pricing bids I have doesn't matter, I'm just toying with most of them with no intention of getting them, I only want to get the following out of Community Pricing:
English Bible Collection (27 vols.) (much higher bids needed)
Encyclopedia Britannica (32 vols.) (much more and somewhat higher bids needed, it won't make it at the current projected price)
Lexham Bible Guide: 1 Peter (somewhat sure, as it's pretty exensive, my bid is $16 - which is lower than the prevailing bid)
Works of Xenophon (14 vols.)Perhaps also 300 Illustrations for Preachers, I don't know whether I want it with my own account or if it would be better with my mother's account... but it's really not an important item to have. I doesn't look like I'm going to preach myself.

Mine is not that long, but I don't see why it would matter or how someone's pre-pub list will help you understand how the process works. With my short list [I'd dare to say shortest one compared to others - I mean really short], I can tell you my oldest order was placed in June of 2013 and I feel it's already taking way too long to produce the resource I ordered; especially when the tagging is not that sophisticated on this one as is on the others (John G. Butler ABE Psalm and Isaiah to Ezekiel). The only tagging I've seen in some volumes I own are the standard Scripture reference and some (not all) Quotation Sources entries at the end, but that's about it. This particular resource is not at a "Scholar's Level" so no foot notes, original language and complicated things of that nature - so I don't see why it's taking so long to make it out of pre-pub. But oh well, this volume and the last one on the Old Testament is all I need to complete the OT set. I'm not too crazy about the NT set as I think it's way too over priced. Maybe if they sold it in a bundle with the basic tagging for $250 as a third party software is doing, I'd probably buy it, but for now, I'd settle for a complete OT at the very least -- when that'll happen, I don't know, but hopefully some day it will happen.

My Pre-Pub list has 134 entries. One of those entries is the Eerdmans Bible Reference Bundle (309 volumes).

Mine has a lot and I do not feel like counting them. Many of them I will get when they are released and some I will delete. I don't care how the process works nor how long it takes.

3 ship Jan, and 2 ship first week of February. I stopped counting at
50 for CP.
I monitor it everyday. Try not to think about it. Yikes.0 -
