Now that we have the entire ESV downloaded, is there now, or will there be a way to integrate the download to what currently requires online connection?

Also, I am very interested in being able to do the weekly Parasha (Torah Portions) using this ESV audio while reading along.

Thank you, Peace and Shalom

...and we pray for the Peace of Yerushalem.

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you are asking. Can you try again? Are you asking if you will be able to play the audio offline? [At this point, the answer is no. The publisher has provided this to us (free!) through Logos, provided it is "online."]

Again, I plead ignorance. Is this a reading plan using the ESV text?

If I am understanding correctly, you would like to play the audio esv while not online. This is not possible at this time using the Logos ESV. It is online only, no download for offline hearing.

Also, I am very interested in being able to do the weekly Parasha (Torah Portions) using this ESV audio while reading along.

I'm not sure how (or if) I can answer this question, but I will add what I'm thinking. You would be able to link 2 Bibles (Tanakh and ESV or BHS and ESV) side by side using link sets (link set A). This would keep the 2 Bibles in sync with each other while reading. Maybe others on the forum can add some insight (and graphics) to this.

    Be blessed

ESV audio is available (January free download) at christianaudio.com in zipped mp3 and m4b.
With the complete audio files on my HDD, the question is if there is now, or will be, a way to synchronize the ESV and the audio just as if being online.
Thanks for the replies that indicate this is not (now) possible. Since some do not have constant internet, this would be a big advantage.

There are a few different sources for the Parasha / weekly Torah readings. One is The Complete Jewish Bible (available in Logos. Go to Table of Contents, last item - Scripture Readings). Also available online at torahportions.org or hebrew4christians.com/Scripture/Torah/Weekly_Readings/weekly_readings.html. (This is not an endorsement for these sites).
This is a "reading plan" followed by believers around the globe. Some state it was instituted by King David, others say by Nehemiah or Ezra after return from Babylon.

Eventually when ESV audio works offline, I (also) wish to complete a PBB that will "play" the audio while reading the ESV full screen in large text for Sabbath and the moedim.

While I purchased a different ESV audio CD, this ESV audio is the best narration I have found - it doesn't have a "commercial" or "DJ voice" tone to it.
    [Your mileage may vary].

As always .. we pray [daily/regularly] for the peace of Yerushalem (as commanded Ps 122:6)

    Shalom,
    Dav!d

That is completely unrelated to Logos in any way. The license that you have for that resource isn't the same license you have for the Logos ESV audio.

    Thanks for clarifying. [:)]

Have you been able to successfully create a "reading plan" (with the "reading plan" tool) within Logos to match "the Parasha"? My guess is that it isn't currently possible... there are a number of "stock" reading plans in Logos. All other reading plans have the software randomly chop up passages to fit within a range of time. Unless you choose one of the "stock" plans, you can't control when the readings break up.

This is an area that Logos REALLY needs to improve. [:S]

It is only related in the fact they both use the same audio.

My hope is that someday this will be possible.

Unfortunately while some may have succeded in this or a similar reading plan, after meager attempts, I "gave up" and just use my [__other program__] that already has this built in with hyperlinks and highlighted text so one knows where to start / stop, and proceed to the next section.
On another "debatable note," some have mentioned this reading plan needs "modified" to include TNK passages that were excluded due to direct link to Yeshua as The One Who fulfilled prophecy. (I apologize for stepping across the forum lines, I only mention this for clarification for those who may want to know).

They use the same audio in the sense that they come from the same source, but they do not use the same files.... Just like you can't play a blue-ray disc in a DVD player. They might both have the same movie, they are both the same size, but they are different.

The publisher, for whatever their reasons, has chosen to make the ESV available to Logos users free of charge, but online only. They have also chosen to partner with the other company to give away (for one month only) copies of the MP3 files (which is a really good deal... it is $70 at Audible!).

after meager attempts, I "gave up" and just use my [__other program__] that already has this built in

Logos needs to continue to add plans, but more importantly, they need to give us the ability to create specific readings... And not only for Scripture, but also for other resources.

It's the lectionary used by Jews, and also, with modifications and additions, by Messianic Jews.

A Messianic one can be found at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/60828/461920.aspx#461920.
