I just got my CD of Bibliotheca Sacra 1-90, and after I install and run Logos, it does not prompt for the serial number, so I can't unlcok it!  What's the trick? I have done this many times before, I have never seen the product not prompt for serial #...

thanks!

Hi Dominic, I had this problem this summer on Logos 3. What I did was in the My Library, opened the resource (make sure you set the view in My Library to view locked resources or (All Known Resources") . Once you have opened the resource, it will open a screen telling you that it is locked. Click on "unlock this resource" and a window will pop up. Click "next" and then click "unlock by phone". A dialogue box will appear which will allow you to enter the unlock code. (see below) Once you have done this, make sure that you syncronise your licenses.

I am having a similar problem with both Logos 3 and 4.  I purchased Jesus and the Feasts, and installed the disk.  It does not appear in my LOGOS 3 library in either the" locked" or the "unlocked" Resources.  I downoaded it from the site and copied it into my resources file under Program Files and the books show up in that file but they still do not show up in Logos 3. I tried typing in both the name of the disk and the names of the books on it.  No good - even though, again, they do show up in my Resource file in my Program Files.  I synchronized licenses again, still did not show up. I inserted the disk and tried to run the "set up" option again and it would not do it.  I went to My Computer and cliked on the disk and all it did was open LOGOS 3.   It told me it was discovering respources on the disk, but when I went to the Locatoin manager it told me that all the resources have already been copied to my hard drive.  The dialogue box to insert the serial number  has never come up.  The resources also do not show up in LOGOS 4, even though I went to the site and told it to download it.  What in the world do I do now?

Hi Vivian, welcome to the forums!

    1. Can you make sure that you copied the files into the Logos 3 directory? C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources

    2. Then on Logos 3 go to the menu item Tools-->Options-->General  A box will pop up and you need to click on "Resource Paths"

    3. Then click "Refresh Resources"  on the window that pops up (see below) You paths will probably look different. Unless you are doing something special like I am, just leave these alone. All you need do is click "Refresh Resources".

    4. Click "OK" to close the box, then shut down Logos 3 and restart it.

Here is what worked for me - I ended up rebooting my system, put the CD in the drive, manually went in and started the SETUP.EXE file, and when it was finished, and I ran Logos 3, it prompted for my serial number so I was good to go.  Yay!

Donovan, thanks for the tip -- I tried that, but I had a serial number not an unlock code. I tried entering my serial number and it did not work there.

For other users, worst case call Logos during business hours, they will take your serial number, and given you an unlock code that you can enter per Donovan's instructions above - then you will be set if my trick doesn't work for you!

As I wrote earlier, the individual books in the resource disk do show up under "Resources " in my  Program Files.  I just now went to the Tools box and did what you advised me to do.  Still no go.  Not only that, but my program locked up on me for a few minutes when I clicked on "refresh resources" and "apply."  The refresh resources option went grey after I clicked on it.  And then the dialogue box would not close, but finally it did.  I shut down the program and reopened it and the resource still is not there under either "unlocked resources" or "locked resources."

I'm not quite sure what is going on here, so unless someone chimes in from the forum, you need to probably call Technical Support.

Clearing the system cache may solve this problem - try Solution 2 at http://www.logos.com/articleviewer/565

After you restart L3 and resources are discovered, restart it once more!

Donavan and Dave - thanks for your help.  I have been away from my computer all day and just got back to the task at hand!   I went to the "delete cache" link that you provided, Dave, and got engrossed in another link that tole me how to check my Bibliography.  I did that and the books did not appear there, although they are listed in my Resource file under Program files.  I then told it to check the unlocked books and they did come up.  So I will check that again tomorrow when LOGAS is open and see if they can give me the code.  I'll let you all know tomorrow what happens!  Thank you so much for your willingness to help.

Just to let you know:  all is well.  I got hold of support today and the gal who answerd had to do something on her end and the books are now in my library.  This is the second time this has happend in the last month.  I hope it is not going to be a regular thing when I purchase books!   It is a long wait to talk to someone to has to do somethingjust  to unlock newly purchased books.
