Mac/IOS Syncing

There seems to be continuing sync issues between these platforms?  If I add a reading item on my IOS device it does not get reflected on my Mac home screen.  Whilst existing reading progress are updated on the Mac home screen and IOS device, added reading plans are not updated on the Mac.

Has anyone encountered this problem?  If so, is there a solution?

Adding reading plans on the IOS is easy and straight forward, but on the Mac it is convoluted.  Can anyone suggest a simpler shortcut? Smile

    Welcome to the forums. [:)]

If I understand, the issue isn't a "sync" one, but rather "why doesn't the Mac automatically add the reading plan to the home page?" I normally add reading plans from the desktop (it's easier to modify plans that way), and I never use the homepage... But it is simple enough to click on the gear wheel icon and add the plan. Do you create plans frequently?

    Thanks for your welcome.

I use sync as "to cause to go on, move, operate, work, etc., at the same rate and exactly together", so in part, yes, your comment is part of my question.

If I add a reading plan from the Faithlife site, that added reading plan appears on the home page site of the Mac Logos desktop - by extension it also appears from the "gear wheel" as the added plans become available from this location.  Conversely, plans added from the IOS device are never seen as available from the "gear wheel", therefore cannot be accessed on the Mac interface.

I have on average 30 reading plans with dozens of books on the go at the same time.  As well as reading my Bible once through every 6-12 months etc. So as a topic or idiom piques my curiosity I add it.

The issue seems to be how IOS handles the data.  I guess if they turned on error trapping or response from my account back to the IOS device I would see how these requests are processed between platforms.

Wow! 30 reading plans is well outside of the "norm." I wonder if you are pushing the boundaries of the mobile app? Do you know how to open the reading plan document within L5? Have you checked to see if the new document appears? What about other documents (notes, highlighting, etc)? Are those files large (quantity of both documents and notes/highlights within)?

None of the reading plans from the IOS appear on the Mac platform.

From the tools menu I can create reading plans.  From the documents menu I can access my reading plans as well as notes etc.

    Hi Stewart

Not wanting to be picky but just wanted to clarify

From the tools menu I can create reading plans.

The Tools menu gives access to Reading Lists (which are not the same as Reading Plans). Are you looking for Reading Plans created on iOS to appear in Reading Lists on Mac?

From the documents menu I can access my reading plans as well as notes etc.

From what you say above I assume that in the documents menu you can't see the Reading Plan documents created on iOS.

    Is that correct?

Correct.  Reading plan documents created on IOS don't show up on Mac platform.

Also, my reading lists become part of my reading plans.  As I develop an exegesis I move between these lists and plans.

    Hope this clarifies.

Sorry, I think not.  I have expended more than enough time expounding a simple issue that appears to have no immediate solution.  Thought for the moment 2 Cor 12:7-10

If a solution is found I would appreciate knowing, Prov 25:25, I await.

    Thanks for your input everyone.
