I must say there has been quite a learning curve concerning Logos 4. Having said that, I am liking L4 more and more. This is not to say that L4 is up-to-par as what perhaps most of us expected. But the more I use it, and the more I learn how to use it (especially from the posts on this forum supplied by those more familiar with L4), well, I am FINALLY beginning like I can finally do my study and work from L4.
To the disgruntled, disappointed and disillusioned, I would make a few suggestions:
1. Continue to spend time with L4 (it's simply 'different' from L3) and only time spent with L4 will help you to see the real possibilities that this program has. I purchased L4 the day it was released. It is only in the last day or two that I feel like I'm truly beginning to get the hang of how to set it up in a way that really works for me.
2. Spend time reading the forums and watching the videos. They have helped me immensely!
3. Be patient with the L4 company. Yes, it was probably released a bit early...but I am confident that there will be constant improvements with the passing of each week or month. I truly believe Logos is attempting to create the very finest Bible software program in the world. I believe in time--they will reach their goal--to the amazement of everyone.
4. Pray for and encourage all the folks at Logos. Hey, these are people who love the Lord and who I believe feel called by God to provide the very best Bible software technology can achieve. In your criticisms and suggestions, please guard against maligning the motives of those who are probably working-their-butts off trying to address all the short-comings and bugs that are so vexing to so many.
I, for one, will continue to simply keep using and learning the program--trusting that LOGOS will indeed deliver the goods what we all long for. Charis humin kai eirene to all as we enter 2010. Steve
