I've just finished Varner's volume on James. It was very readable and excellent on the exegesis. I was just a little disappointed by the "Application and Devotional Implications" sections, which were essentially sermon outlines rather than a fleshed out discussion. Maybe that's what you need if you are preparing sermons, but as a layman I would have benefitted more from a brief discussion of the implications of the text in contemporary situations. However, overall, the handling of the text was excellent and clear.

First, I'm 100% certain that it's not legal. You should edit out the link yourself. If they really sell ebooks for free, these are stolen from someplace.
Second: I'm curious, did it work for you? I tried this site or another working like it some time ago on a weekend: they give you something you download, but its not a book but some crypted file and to get the password you need to go elsewhere and take part in some promo in order to receive the key - back then there were several choices including downloading a certain computer game software which I did, but I ended up with no key for the purported book file and no working game either. When my PC was starting to behave strange, I de-installed all of it. I'm not sure if these people are after valid ids, distribute malware or whatever. And I'm not sure if they really have books or simply grab the metadata from a catalog file and just have you download a junk file in order to get you deeper into it.

This is a scam. If you download the book, you'll only be able to get the password by signing up to various offers that will cost you money. You'll find that even signing up won't give you the password, and even if it did it wouldn't be the book you wanted. I download the "EEC commentary" from that site, and "Fact Files: Extreme Planet", and got exactly the same file both times.
It would be good it you could remove the scammy link from your post to avoid giving that site any additional publicity.

The book is not the EEC commentary, but a brochure about how to download files from the internet (at least that's what the title says - and I wouldn't suggest everybody trying this, who knows what viruses and trojans the scammers include into their bogus files).

I have found the EEC to be excellent. Robust in its thoroughness. I will buy every volume as they become available.
Thanks Steve - and to all who have secured the early resources in the set. Today's Logos Blog features my volume on James. Logos has followed through on their commitment to print these volumes and mine is the first! I hope that the series is meeting your expectations and that it will also in the print format. The post does not mention that the print version is available on Amazon and some other outlets. I honestly do not known if Logos will be directly selling the print copies or if they will continue to depend on Amazon and other distributors.
Thanks, Jonathan. I tried to do some of what you mentioned in the Biblical Theology section. True, the "Applications" section is mainly homiletical suggestions, but that is because in the set number of sections that the EEC requires, there was no section on "Homiletics" so I used the last one for that purpose. Have you seen that the print volume is now available?
