Installing Logos on a new Laptop Question

I am using Method 2 on the wiki page to install Logos 5 on a new laptop. Step 3 says to:

Copy the following folders from backup to the new installation (after deleting the same new folders)

\Logos4\Data
\Logos4\Documents
\Logos4\Users

I cannot find the "documents" folder on my new laptop. It's running windows 8. Is it no there or am I missing it?

Open the File Explorer and click on "Desktop" then your ID then "AppData" then "Local" then "Logos 5" then "Data" then some mysterious title (it should be the only one showing) then "Resource Manager." Your resources should be under "Resources."

Copy the following folders from backup to the new installation (after deleting the same new folders)

If any of those folders exist in the new installation after Step 2 delete them and then copy the same folders from backup. It saves the hassle of a "replace" dialog when the same files/folders exist in the destination. First be sure you are looking in the \Logos5 folder as that will be created at Step 2. Your backup installation folder could be \Logos4 or \Logos5 depending on its history.

In my backup Logos 4 folder I have the following subfolders:

Data
Documents
en-Us
en-ES
en-MX
Installed
Shared
System
Users

In my Logos 5 folder (new Laptop) I have:

Data (empty)
en-Us
en-ES
en-MX
Installed
Shared
Users

The "Documents" and "System" folders are missing. Should I delete the "Data" and "Users" folder from the Logos 5 folder and copy the "Data", Documents" and "Users" from my backup to my Logos 5 folder?

It should have \System if you installed Logos at Step 2 - these are the software files for Logos (it won't start without them).

Yes - but you need to resolve the missing \System folder (you could copy it from Backup but only if it came from the same version of Logos).

Thanks for the replies.

I re-downloaded the Logos set up files and now I have the "systems" folder. I am copying the "data" folder now.

Is there supposed to be a "documents" folder in the Logos 5 folder? I have one on my old computer in the Logos 4 folder and I was running Logos 5 on Windows Vista, but there isn't one in the Logos 5 folder on my new computer.

It doesn't matter if there isn't as you will copy the folder from Backup. Note:-

Step 2

immediately exit the Sign-in window after the installation has finished.

The installation (Setup) used to create a blank Documents folder but Logos can't download/change sync any data until you sign-in at Step 4.
