Notes ?????

Hi all, I will try to make this clear,however my communication skills are few.I know how to make a note. I know how to make a passage list,but is there anyway to merge them together.? I am working on a sermon and would like to be able to type notes then import bible verses then type etc. Is this possible ?

Do you mean that you want to be able to type text into a note, import a Bible verse from a passage list into the note and then continue typing in the note?

If so, then you can do this.

Have both the note document and passage list open - then when you want to insert a verse from the passage list simply "drag it" to the note and you should be there.

Graham, Thank you for your speedy reply, I'm sure that will work,however this challenged person (me) cannot get two windows open at the same time. I opened a notes window for a test. No problem but when I try to open a passage list it opens in the notes window. I can toggle back and forth but don't know how to separate them. Help ME, Denny

Hi Denny

if you use your mouse you should be able to drag the notes document to a different part of the screen.

I'm not at my computer now so can't demonstrate but hopefully that gives you a pointer.

Hello again Graham. I'm probably a lost cause.Yes I was able to use mouse and have two windows open. a notes window and a passage list.I put a little test info in the notes window and then used john 3 16 in the passage guide.The only way it would let me drag and drop was by clicking on the john 3 16 not on the verse itself.Then when I go back over to the notes it has put the info in a separate tab and its more then just john 3 16 its like I can scroll thru the entire bible. I really appreciate your help. Denny

Ok - that's a good step forward

So that would appear something like the picture below:

Note that the Passage List is set to display "Full" information not "Compact". Please ensure yours is set to the same

The only way it would let me drag and drop was by clicking on the john 3 16 not on the verse itself

I don't know how that happened.

In the show below I have selected Isaiah 59:20 in the Passage List by clicking on the text - not the verse number

I then dragged that selection to just under the text in the test note

and released it

What happens if you follow these steps?

Graham, I really thank you for taking the time to help me. OK here is what happens now. I can drag and drop but only ABOVE my note. That's why I was not able to drop before. If I go below the note the icon that shows as you are dragging changes to an x symbol and does not drop. Now I must tell you I'm stubborn and don't give up easily. So in my searching around I discovered WORD if I open a word document then I can open "copy bible verses" and add it to my word document the type then add more verses etc. But I would like to be able to do it from notes, passage list like we have been working on Have you tried a note then a passage then another note then a passage under it ? Yes, this works fine for me.

I am running on Windows. Are you using Windows or Mac?
