Change bible reference automatically depending on the kind of study I'm doing.

Is it possible to bring up the kind of bible most appropriate for whatever I'm studying? For example, if I was studying something Jewish, I would want to use a Jewish bible. If I was doing something more academic, I might want a ESV or original language. Are their options to do this?

Is it possible to open more than one resource depending on what one is doing?

If you are linking from specific resources you can use Advanced Prioritization to open links to specific bibles.

The usual way is to create layouts - say one for Jewish study, one for Greek study, one for Hebrew study; each with the resources, Guides & Tools you need (linked together as appropriate). When you exit Logos, your layout will be saved as Application Closed; preserving the last passage/reference/search you used. To resume the study choose the appropriate option from Tools >> Settings >> "At Startup Open to":-

Most recent - local will pick up the Application Closed layout last saved from your computer
Most recent - any will pick up the Application Closed layout last saved from any computer on which you have the same Logos sign-in
Layout_name will use the layout with that name, which will basically be the layout as you initially created it.

Allen, your question is an interesting one. Presumably if one were reading the JPS commentary, the Tanakh version would be the appropriate choice. It also has excellent notes (and we're looking forward to the Jewish Study Bible).

But the question gets a bit tricky after that. I'm almost finishing up my book on eastern Christianity, which made heavy use of the Peshitta. But would I actually want the Peshitta for the source? And which one (there was a sequence of them).

Reading medieval tomes would suggest something along the lines of the Majority text?

There's a CP for the Bible text from monastics at Mt Athos; would fit monastic studies?

Reading 'Paul' would suggest the Septuagent. Certainly Philo, though much of his quotes track to the Hebrew.

Kind of interesting to think about.
