I am trying to create a PBB as an index to some documents I have on my local drive.
I have tried to use html references but to no avail.
Can this be done at all?
thanks
karl
Does this syntax work?
file:///C:/path/filename.txt
(Create a link in Word and have it link to that URL, filling in of course the actual path and filename on your hard disk.)
Hi,
No, I have been trying to do this but PBB does not seem to want to process the "file:///" syntax
Interesting. I'm guessing there must be some way to get it to work, because you can drag a file from Windows Explorer onto your toolbar in Logos, and then click on the icon to open it. So internally it has to have some way of addressing files. I'm sorry I don't know what it is, nor how to figure it out.
Yes, until recently that seemed to work on the Mac too, but i tried it today with no luck,
thanks anyway
If it doesn't work on the Mac anymore, then that sounds like a regression bug that should be reported.
Yes, i think i will do that
To get the link with L5 Mac
1. Select "Get Info" (Cmd-I) for the file
2. Select & copy the directory path in the info window
3. Paste into the target note
4. add /filename with extension.
Cmd-Click will now open the target document. If you do not add the /targetname, the link will open the enclosing folder.
Thanks, that worked so i guess i can create my index using a note rather than a PBB
