How to create Custom Reading Plan based on headers?
Ok, I've done forum searching and wiki reading, and I've discovered how to check how a book (not the Bible) is indexed, by page, english headwords, etc.
I can't seem to figure out how to make one work out for me though. Let's take "131 Christians Everyone should know" as the book example, I think most have this resource. It is indexed by Bibliographic Item, Page, and English Headwords.
When I attempt to make a Reading Plan, it selects All Passages by default. So if my desire is to read the book in 131 days (a person a day), it only seems able to divide it by page numbers, so in a daily reading I end up with Table of Contents and a partial chapter, or something similar.
How can I attach a Daily reading to a heading/chapter? I found this here, but didn't understand it. Where is this entered at?

I'm afraid you are coming across one of the issues with Reading Plans as currently provided.
The level of control allows you to determine the number of days / sessions but that's about all so I don't think you can do much better than you have found.
You will see a number of requests on the forums to make this better but nothing as yet

You should be able to do it with a Reading Cycle (or Lectionary). When I get back from visiting Mother, I'll see if I can get you started.

Anthony, this is doable with a little thinking outside the box. What I have done is identified the page number the reading for each person begins, so I have compiled a list of 131 pages numbers. I then specify these page numbers as the range I want to read, and set the plan to be completed in 131 sessions. I know have a plan that will take me each reading session to the next person to read about. The caveat is that because I am only specifying a single page number (in order to get the plan to divide up correctly) it will tell you to stop reading before you get to the end of the section on that person - simply check off you have read the day's reading at that point and keep reading till the end of the material on that person at the natural break point. The important thing is to get a reading about a new person each day and this is what this approach will achieve.
For instance on 22nd March I will be taken to the reading on Aquinas

Wow, thanks for doing that! So, I could attempt to follow this method for most books, is that correct? Granted it would take more work for other books too?
Also, where do I put this txt file?

as I understand the instructions above, you don't put the textfile anywhere, but copy & paste its content (which is a line of numbers) into the reading plan field in the middle of the screen.

No problem Anthony. NB.Mick is correct. Copy the pages numbers from the text file and paste into the reference range section of your reading plan setup. You can do this with any book, just takes a little bit of work to start, but save it as a named range and you will have all the details to use in the future if you want to re-read the book at a later date.
