Bummer. Yet another freebie that I already bought.
Peace, Tom! Thank you so very much! I appreciate your "heads-up!"!!! This month I did NOT own the freebie; so I'm pretty "up"! It's downloading even as I post this post ......!
Sorry it didn't work out this month. I know how you feel Rosie for that's my usual experience. Fortunately this time I didn't have this book and I really enjoy Bonhoeffer.
Um - and your library is what percentage of the Logos offerings?
how come after you purchase the freebie, the armchair set price doesn't go down dynamically?

Um...I have 62.80% of all known resources.
It did for me.
Thanks, Tom. Thanks, Logos. [Y]
Thanks Logos
Thanks Logos and thanks for the Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy deal last week too. Cheers.

My sales experience taught me that men were impulsive buyers while women were more goal oriented. Perhaps you goal is to own every Logos resource? [:D]
Did not have that one, but I do have Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy which is available from Vyrso. From the product description, both seem to cover the same ground, but now I have both [8-|]
Question, I clicked purchase on the free book, but how do I get it when I sign into Logos?
Click "Add to cart" then "Proceed" then sign in. From there follow the remaining prompts to complete the transaction. Once the transaction is complete, open Logos and it should download the resource.

Sometimes it downloads almost immediately; sometimes it takes longer; occasionally, it need "Update Now" in the command box.
My problem was not in the actual download, but how to bring the book up in Logos5 on my computer? If it just appears in my Library, how do I search for it? Does it need to Index first?
If it just appears in my Library, how do I search for it?
A Basic search will include it once is has been indexed - which should happen automatically once it has been downloaded and incorporated into your library.
Are you having a specific problem with it?
Beside the Home symbol in the upper left of the program is an open book symbol that represents your library. Just click on it to open it and type the name of the book in search field. Then click on the book and it will open. It takes a bit of getting used to the layout but after a bit it becomes second-nature.
I did and thanks for the heads up.
But it's getting to the point where I don't even want to download free books any more. I got one book (this one) and my Library has been indexing for over 30 minutes, slowing down the rest of my computer. I know. I know. I could download and index later. I should do that, given the way this works. But does it really have to take that long to index one book? Really? (Maybe it doesn't help that I have over 5,900 other books/resources in my library and a slower HDD doesn't help either.)

I know that you know this but it is still worth saying - get a SSD and you will never look back.
Lord willing, my son & I will build a new computer together this summer, and include an SSD, and probably a HDD for data/photos/music/etc. He's built a few so far (mostly for family & friends).
In the meantime I just need to remember to not restart Logos after a download unless I'll be away from the computer for at least a half hour.
Thanks!
I have over 7,500 resources, and indexing does not take anywhere near that long. Does the Fusion drive make that much difference?

Sounds like a good strategy both for building a computer and enhancing relationships.
Sounds wise. I think I would do the same thing.

Nope. I'm pretty impulsive. Men probably generally have more disposable income than women do, which might explain the gender differences in behavior that you noticed. The women are probably more careful about budgeting for household expenses and such. However some women have more disposable income than the average man, and perhaps those ones tend to be more impulsive too. That might explain it in my case. Thank you, Bill Gates! [;)]

Clearly, you need help. Anyone would like to start Logoholics Anonymous (L.A.)? Logos is clearly an addictive tool! LOL

Indeed it is!
I realize that you are joking but on a more reflective note we must be careful not to let it (or any powerful thing) become an idol in our hearts.

True! All things are lawful...but I will not be brought under the power of any (1 Cor. 6:12).
