List of problems with 1.2

I don't want to sound ungrateful, as I've really been looking forward to offline access. However, there are a number of new bugs with 1.2. I thought it may be helpful to consolidate them into one post:

  • Worst, is that when connected by WiFi, I'm treated as if I was offline, but without the warning message. This means I only have access to offline books. This appears to most users as if their library has disappeared. I'm forced to switch WiFi off to use Logos. (I also once had this happen on a 3G connection.)
  • Several books give error messages part way through the download and never complete. This includes Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary, BHS 4.2
  • Several books won't download at all (the 'available offline' toggle is greyed out). This seems to include the GOD'S WORD translation, the HCSB, and the NKJV. I also had this once with The Book of Genesis, Chapters 18-50, but it's been OK since. On some of these resources the button wasn't greyed out, but selecting it brought an error and then greyed out the switch.
  • In the library view, the orange 'downloading' icon doesn't clear after a resource is downloaded or the download has failed.
  • Worse, every time a new icon is added to a resource (the red or orange icons) the same icon is added to ALL resources with an icon, creating a weird stacked effect. I can clear this by scrolling the library, which causes the cover to re-download (a bug clearing a bug!).
  • Some download icons are smaller than others.
  • Very often (perhaps three in five), the app crashes during a download.
  • In offline mode, Bibles are treated like books (with a Contents picker, not a Verse picker).
  • Footnotes are not downloaded in offline mode.
