Problems adding a Personal Book - Text is missing!
I have a specific series of books that I am adding to my personal book list. These books are not available in the Logos store, but are available for free on the PC(USA) website as downloadable PDF files.
I used Adobe Acrobat Pro to convert the PDF files to DOCX files. It did this without a hitch, and looks perfect.
When I import them as a personal book, it doesn't work right. The contents created ignore some items that are listed as "headings" in Word. Entire pieces of text are out of order or missing entirely. This is strange to me as it looks just fine in Word.
The books I am importing are the Presbyterian Book of Order and the Book of Confessions. As a Presbyterian Seminary student, these books are critical for my research. As a PDF ebook in kindle or nook, they work fantastically, with linked texts and references.
Any Ideas on what I am doing wrong when I import them?

Can you post/ ie upload the .docx file?
It would probably be necessary to examine the "heading" styles to check for "anomalies"

Well, it appears the text is all present, but not where it should be.

What you will normally find when headings don't process correctly is that they have more than one style applied. To check this, on some headings that aren't working correctly.
1. Select the heading
2. Click on clear all formatting
3. Now reset heading style.
It should now work correctly.
as for misplaced text, that is frequently the result of going from multi-column to single column format. That I have no canned test for.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head there....It looks as though it is multiple columns. From the looks of it, it is something that Adobe does when converting it to a DOCX file. There are a couple of options to avoid it, but it involves making text boxes instead, which throws Logos for a real curve
I might have to get in there and do some tweaking myself the hard way.

As I use MSWord to convert from PDF, I suspect I have a different starting point than you. Some documents I can clean up by resetting the columns in Word; in other cases I end up using copy & paste as a faster path to sorting it out. I have a Finnish Lutheran Catechism at the moment that is giving me headaches because each page seems to require its own technique.
