There is a problem trying to open a bitmap. I am wondering if it relates to the verse of the day feature.
Try this: Open it, and press SHIFT+F% (or the Mac equivalent). This refreshes the home page cache.
Alternatively open to a blank layout. On PC this is done by holding CTRL when you start Logos. Perhaps holding the CMD key will do the same for Mac(??).

Was it set to open to the Home Page or to a layout? If the latter, you may have a corrupt layout. If you should select a layout and have the crash, then you will need to rebuild the layout.
