Why is it OliveTree is offering offline viewing of the New American Commentary and the Logos bible a
OliveTree today is offering offline viewing of the New American Commentary and with my Logos app, I can't even view the commentaries online much less offline. In other words, I have no options at all for NAC with the Logos app. Why is that?

The NAC publishers have given Olive Tree permission to distribute the commentaries on mobile devices whereas they have not given permission to Logos. Logos has stated before they are actively working to secure permission to make all of their books available to mobile users but these things take time and some publishers may never give permission. But since NAC is available elsewhere, I suspect we will see it sooner (I hope) or later.

There is another iPhone App (Mantis Study Bible) that has many books available for the iPhone and for offline viewing that Logos doesn't have and I use very often, like the MacArthur Study Bible, and NIV Bible.
I hope Logos will be able to offer them offline soon.

We are not speaking here about the same thing. I know Olive Tree and Mantis. I bought some stuff from them before Logos came with the iPhone application. Show me one more Bible Study system you can use BOTH on your PC and on your iPhone (and hopefully on other platforms). I don't know any other but Logos. And that is the value of Logos iPhone Application. Yes, you can find some stuff with others, but you have to pay separately for each platform. To have the same volume of books with Olive Tree (first it would not be possible) it would cost you a lot of extra money.

I don't think any Broadman & Holman resources are
available yet. I bet Logos is trying to get all of that
publisher's books licensed for mobile use in the same deal, which is a lot. Plus it's still the holidays, so things are probably slow in general.MacBook Pro (2019), ThinkPad E540

Without naming competing software companies, there are other Bible companies where you can use your resources on multiple platforms (e.g. PC, iPhone, WinMo, etc) without any additional cost beyond what you paid for the resources. I think the major distinguisher is whether you need to be linked to the internet or not for use (Logos requires linkage for the iphone/WinMo, and for PC-downloading/updating).
OK, I stand corrected if that is the case. I tried many and haven't find one. The offline option is really important feature and I hope Logos is working on that as fast as they can. We got the promise on that from Logos.

Laridian PocletBible gives access to all the users resources on the PC, the iPhone, and any other platforms for which PocketBible is available.

Actually Olive Tree does offer their resources on multiple platforms for a single price. I purchased resources for my Palm device several years ago and now use those same resources on the iphone version of the Olive Tree reader. I did not have to repurchase my resources. I've been a long time user of both Olive Tree and Logos products and I'm confident that Olive Tree will continue to offer a considerably valuable product and for less $ than Logos.
