BUG: Notes refuse to close

Formerly, typing Escape would close a note. Then, clicking outside the note would close the note. Now, nothing closes the note except opening another note which then refuses to close.

What view is this occurring in? Both Escape and clicking outside the note are currently working for me. Clicking outside only doesn't work if you click above the dividing line where the note title and view links are, which looks to be the design.

Sounds like it might be a localized issue, I don't know if logs would have anything useful, but if you keep having the issue they can't hurt. Also, as always, it might be good to see if a restart helps (I know your thoughts on the matter, forgive me for suggesting it[;)])

Tried that. It made no difference.

I'm not as fussy as some Mac users. I post the un-Mac-like comments for their benefit [6]

    Before Escape

After Escape. The note has lost focus, but it did not close.

Another thing: Note the position of the cursor in the title field. If I backspace once, the last letter of the title will be deleted.

Typed Escape then Cmd-Q. Took logs, so the last thing prior to shutdown was the attempt to close the note.

Aha. This was my misunderstanding - I was checking for it losing focus. I can reproduce Esc not compacting the content, as well as clicking outside the Note panel. Clicking blank space within the Note will collapse it correctly.

I've made a case for this. Thanks for clarifying!
