Library Journals

I recently purchased the Theological Journal Library in Logos; my question is this...Is there a way to search all of these journal by key words, i.e. "Holy Spirit"? I am using the journals for a paper for school and would like to be able to search them all at the same time.

Hi Steven,

Welcome to the forums! It is possible to accomplish what you want with one caveat: you're going to have to create a Collection that contains all of the journals you want to search. If the Theological Journal Library journals are the only ones that you own, this may be easy. If not, you may have a little bit of work ahead of you. If TJL is your only journal set, you can use the rule type:journal to make a Journal Collection. If you have other journals, I would recommend going through your library and tagging all of the journals with a keyword (like TJL) and then using that as your Collection rule (mytag:TJL). Because I don't own these resources, I don't know if there's an easy rule that would easily filter them into a Collection. My apologies for that--perhaps a Logos user who does own them could comment.

After you've made your collection, bring up the Search window and go to Basic search. There you should see the keyword "Entire Library". Click that drop-down and choose your newly created Collection. After that you'll be set up to do all the key word searches you need to on the Journals.

I'd add one thing to the good answer William gave you. The journals are searchable by Large Text, Title, and Heading Text as well as by All text. You'll find the drop down to limit your search to these by clicking on All Text. For a word or phrase as widely used as "Holy Spirit" you will get a more manageable list of results, probably more pertinent to your interests.
