Logos loading and running really slow.

Took logos 5 (mac) apprx a minute to startup this morning. And when I right click on text in my NASB, the right-click menu gets painted so slowly that I can watch the menu fill up with content - taking about 1.5 seconds to fill up.

I had trouble in the past and had to run some sort of secondary program that tech support walked me through - a logger of some sort. I'm wondering if Logos is still set up for logging perhaps?

The program also crashes 50% to 75% of the time when closing the program.

Logs will be necessary for anyone to analyze you problem.

The Mac Logging link in my signature will take you to a page where you can download and install a utility that allows you to enable and disable logging. In addition, it will create an archive of your Logos logs and place it on the desktop.

Brian, I wonder if Logos is indexing? There have been cases where the indexer crashes and so everytime you restart it kicks in again. Obviously that would slow things down. The logs should help us sort that out.

I don't think so, since I don't have any visual clues that it's indexing (icon at menu bar? or the yellow bar at the top of logos - neither is there).

I leave my computer on a lot, and it sleeps overnight, so when I close Logos, it's been running usually for 3 days or so. I'm wondering if some sort of date function causes it - since I've noticed my bible reading plans don't adjust properly if logos has been on more than 24 hours. Ie, they still think the date is the same as the day I opened logos (2 or 3 days ago).

In the past Logos 4/5 Mac has had memory leak problems. Have not seen it mentioned lately, but this could contribute to your problems. Also 5.2 has had problems when waking from sleep, although the reported symptoms seem different from yours. This waking-from-sleep problem has been corrected in 5.2a which is now in beta. the current workaround is to quit Logos prior to allowing the computer to sleep.
