NOTES
I really am not sure how to ask the question that I need to know. I guess the easiest way to say it is; is it possible to take notes on the ipad app by a subject. For my sermon prep, I spend a good amount of time reading on my ipad and would like the ability to take notes on a vese or a subject and then bring that note field back up again to add another note whenever I want. I hope that what am I'm trying to do makes sense. Any suggesstions?

What have you tried thus far?
In the Documents section of the app if you press the "+" key at the top right you will get the option to create a new Notes document.
Within that Document you can create notes which you will be able to refer back to as required.
If you have the Notes document open in one half of a split-screen and the resource you are reading in another then you can view them both side-by-side (the onscreeen keyboard will partially obscure the resource when you are adding information to the Notes Document)
