I think he'd go for Bonhoeffer for sure. Any politician (either stripe) probably wouldn't be comfortable with Carson's Exegetical Platitudes.

Yup, I'm quite certain you're right! [:)] He even owns this book on Bonhoeffer that was given to him by the author himself, Eric Metaxas, at the National Prayer Breakfast in 2012, where Metaxas was the keynote speaker.
