How to delete account?

Hi, I just downloaded the logos app and it signed me up for this Faithlife thing. I decided I'm happy with my previous bible app and would like to close my logos related account. Unfortunately after combing this faithlife thing and the logos sites, I can't find a link to delete accounts.... Seems pretty basic. Any help is appreciated!

Vyrso, Verbum, Faithlife, and Logos all use the exact same account so simply deleting your app is all you need to do.

I did that, and yet here I am, logged in to the forums.... Do I just sign out of the website and it destroys my info?

My apologies I had thought you meant you were happy with the other Logos software... To be completely deleted out of Logos universe, if that is possible may require calling Logos. but you can simply click on your name and make sure all emails/news is shut off and you shouldn't get anything from them. I am sorry you didn't like Logos... I admit it is bloated but works well for me with virtually all the reference works I want. But I too use other software in conjunction with Logos and can fully understand being happy with different software.

Eric ... you might find it easier to just put dummy data in your account (making sure it indeed is dummy). This also happens on other sites and the solution is the same. (I agree you should be able to easily erase yourself.)

More seriously, if I were attempting to sever ties with Logos I would

(1) go to the logos.com page while I was logged in

(2) click on you name in the upper right corner of the page to go to "Account settings"

(3) On the left hand side choose "Billing and Shipping"

(4) Remove the credit card; of course then you will not be able to get the monthly free books

(5) go back to the account settings page and then to "Email Lists & RSS Feeds"

(6) make sure there are no lists checked; this should cut off all the automatic email

Doing this much will leave all the licensed material you have acquired from Logos intact and allow you to "come back" some day.

It doesn't look like Eric acquired any licensed material from Logos that he wants to keep intact. He downloaded Logos as a trial, didn't like it, and doesn't want it or the account associated with it any more. Simple request, should be doable. I know you can turn off all the checkboxes for email options, but still Logos would have his email address and might add more checkboxes to the email preferences at some point in the future, which might default to on. A person ought to be able to remove all traces that they ever contemplated having a relationship with a company. Unless there were some legal requirement for the company keeping that info around.

It appears that Logos does not provide a way to delete your user account via their website. You would need to contact Customer Service to do that, either by phone or email. See https://www.logos.com/contact.

That is correct. It is a little bit questionable today to not give customers the ability to remove their accounts. Even Google provides this and they are legendary for tracking everything you do online.

I am neutral on Logos; I found its mobile app was loaded down with more chrome than what I needed. But it is, at best, shady business to sign up customers automatically to other sites and a 'Christianized' facebook clone. All this extra stuff should be opt-in. In fact, an even better model would be to simply use the Google/Facebook/Yahoo authentication API like Crossway and a host of other services do.

Thanks for the suggestions, I guess I'll try giving logos a call.
