Suggestion: Report Typo

Wish there was a way I could easily report typos from the iPad since I do a lot of reading and hence, typo finding, from the iPad. I have been posting them to a Typos group on FaithLife, but unless either I remember to report them when I get back to a computer or someone else in the group sees and reports them, they still don't get reported to Logos.

Thanks!

Should I add this on UserVoice?

You could, but I have no votes left and am not convinced that Logos takes UserVoice seriously.

There's actually already a suggestion for this on UserVoice: https://logosmobile.uservoice.com/forums/190765-logos-mobile-apps/suggestions/4318294-allow-reporting-of-typos

I'll admit, we've done a poor job of keeping up with UserVoice in the past, but we are trying to make an effort to pay attention to user's requests now. We currently have things set up so whenever a user posts a suggestion or comment on UserVoice it gets pumped into our team chat client so we will at least SEE everything people post.

Then, someone needs to communicate this to the community. Many users on these forums feel the same way as I expressed above, that Logos does not give any attention to UserVoice.

Do you have any suggestions for how to do that?

Part of the reason it's hard to utilize UserVoice is that many of the suggestions just aren't very easy to work with, the biggest problem being multiple suggestions within a single post. If a UserVoice post lists four feature requests and we implement one of them, we can't really communicate that using UserVoice status (Planned, Completed, In Progress, Declined), because we didn't complete everything that was asked for. I think this makes it seem like we aren't doing anything with UserVoice because it's really hard to give items accurate status descriptions.

It might be worth noting that of the 27 Mobile UserVoice suggestions so far, 15 have been completed, 4 are planned, 4 have been started, 3 are under review and 1 has been declined.  We do give *some* attention to UserVoice suggestions, although maybe not enough.

You could mark them "In Progress", then respond with a comment telling what has been completed. You could also mention in the comments whether you have plans to complete some of the feature requests or not. Then either wait and mark it completed when you've completed the feature requests you're going to complete (putting in the comments which one you're not), or suggesting to the user to start a new thread for their other comments.

If there's a way to add "guidelines" to the UserVoice Home Page, you could mention a "one suggestion per thread" rule too for future stuff.

Although we are in danger of hijacking this thread for a more general UserVoice discussion, let me comment on this. The most popular suggestion on UserVoice is a catch-all for improvements of the Notes feature of the desktop version. This was assembled by MJ Smith after ant one of multiple single suggestions failed to gain enough votes to get desired attention. Now, Logos complains that we have too many suggestion in one item. To me—and some others—it appears that we simply cannot win.

Nathan has a very good suggestion just above this post.

No worries about hijacking my thread. :-) I'm glad anytime for us to have profitable discussions on stuff.

I agree that Notes needs a lot of work as well. I'm leery of using it for a lot of things since last time I used it for a college paper, it crashed on me all during the paper.
