All Search Engines within Logos...

Hello,

I would like to suggest that the search engines within Logos would reference the "Outline Bible's" headings for finding topics and areas of the word with more simplicity, instead of being somewhat limited to the pericopes provided.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. Do you mean in the Bible search? If so, I would not find it helpful as I am familar with the pericope headings of the translations I use and totally unfamilar with the Outline Bible. Deliberately unfamilar because except at the overview level of Study Bibles and Commentaries, I find outline useful only if I make them myself - I learn from the process not the result.

We would get more suggestions in the passage drop-downs of PG, EG and other tools (if this is what you mean), but some users have already requested that these be eliminated (or made optional) to speed-up the input process.

It would help if you clarified your request and gave examples of the benefits.

Hello,

The outline bible covers more subjects topics (heading wise) in more detail than the pericopes, so the outline bible concerning a subject (wording of Outline's relevant "numbered" headings only - not the questions, answers, etc...) - (biblewide - Gen. - Rev.). And with this idea one would not need to "know the outline bible". (for we would only be using the detail of verse headings). Similar to a fuzzy Search of L3, but more accurate and fun.

It would be like a Treasury of scripture Reference "setup", only in words and added into any search box for easier searching (especially when what you can remember of that verse is not in a pericope - seeing as pericopes are "section" headings more than verse headings). The outline bible headings, I believe, would provide a more detailed search of the verses desired on that particular subject throughout the bible from the search bar with convienence like the pericopes (just more specific). Now, this does not mean that the "Outline Bible" would be referenced itsself (forgive me for giving that impression), but rather that it's headings for the verses, or clusters of verses (or similar if there are copyright stipulations), so that the verses on any particular subject could be found with more ease. If we removed the pericope help, and there was nothing "listed" to find, it would simply not go. It is the software command we are working with.

This Search suggestion is suggestioned in terms of bibles only. Of course the programmers would have to do some interweaving of the software to make the process possible for any translation. An index might be applicable for loading times.

Hello,

Another way to view it, would be to liken it to the Word Study which looks for synynyms, only with detail subject referencing - on a search, for a more thorough and accurate search on the go. Even better than a "Fuzzy Search" in a way.
