In my ESV Bible I have several highlights and underlines. How do I remove the highlighting and underlining to start fresh, in particular the whole Book of Romans?

One option is to go through and delete them all manually
Another option is to find out which notes document they are contained in and uncheck this from the list of visual filters
So, in the example below, if I were to uncheck the visual filter "Sermon Prep" the green highlight would disappear
It very much depends on how you have setup your notesfiles and highlighting options.
Do you know in which notesfile the highlights and underlines are stored?

In theory, the simple answer is to delete the note document... In practice, you probably haven't organized your notes well, or you wouldn't be asking the question. The default behavior is for highlighting notes to be stored in a note document named after the highlighting pallet. If you only use ONE pallet (you can use as many highlighters within that pallet as you'd like), and if you haven't changed any of the default behaviors, then ALL of your highlights would be in that single document. Deleting it would mean deleting ALL of your highlights in ALL of your resources.
I have changed that behavior and I store my highlights in documents named after the book/resource. Every year I select a new translation to read through, for example, and create a new document. At the end of the year I delete that document and all of the highlights disappear (within that resource only). If I were preaching regularly, I would probably use one translation to keep notes in that I intended to keep long term. The behaviors are controlled differently within L5 and the mobile apps.
