How to Edit a Single Tag?

Hi,

I am running Logos 5.2a RC2.

I really appreciate and love all the new Group Edit and Delete Tags capability, Thank you.

Rename Tag on ALL Resources
Delete ALL Tags

However, if I just want to rename One Tag of One Resource, how can I do that? As I was not on Beta until RC1 ... I might have missed something very obvious. However, if indeed it is a missing function, Can we add to the right mouse click context menu:

Rename Tag

Or allow us to edit the Tag the old way; I got so used to the old way of tagging and renaming tag after so many hours of tagging over the last two years. My current work around is to delete the Tag by clicking on "x" after the tag and re-tag it in 2 steps Sad

I don't believe there is any way to do this at the moment - and agree it would be a useful function to have

My current work around is to delete the Tag by clicking on "x" after the tag and re-tag it in 2 steps

I think that's the best you can do at the moment.

You can edit the tag on the very right by putting the cursor after the tag and clicking backspace/delete. But you can't edit a tag like this if it's one of the first tags or in the middle [:(]

I will make a case to add "Rename Tag" to the right click context menu so that renaming one tag of one resource will be possible.

Pressing "Escape" after doing some editing to this last tag does not cancel whatever editing you'd done, and it should. If I accidentally backspace over the last character of a tag and then press Escape, the tag gets deleted. This should not happen.

Conceptually, the tag called "XYZ" exists somewhere in the universe and is describing something (e.g. the however defined group of all critical commentaries on the NT). It is only assigned to a resource. If I rename it "on all resources" that's the same as just renaming it: I decide to call that same tag now "ABC" - or "CritComNT" - which of course doesn't change 'itself'.

If I change a tag on one resource, I don't rename it, I assign another tag to that resource - e.g. "DevotionalComNT". The difference will become more clear if you keep in mind the continued existence of the concept called "CritComNT" (which may be assigned to other resources).

I think that renaming a tag (which would affect it on all resources it's assigned to) should be possible in this context and should be on the right-click menu. Editing the tag (which is what we used to be able to do) to change it to a different, possibly new tag, should also be possible, but I think is less common. I think it makes sense to have to delete the tag and assign a different one to accomplish the latter. If the continued existence of the concept called "CritComNT" is understood, then editing it in place and changing it to DevotionalComNT in this context would be very confusing. It might make me think I'm changing the name of the tag. If I accidentally had assigned CritComNT to a resource and realized later it should be DevotionalComNT, I would expect to have to delete the former and add the latter, even though the names of the two tags are coincidentally similar and I could save myself some typing if I could just change Crit to Devotional. Every other system I know that uses tags with boxes around them and x's on them (e.g., Delicious, Letterboxd) does not let you edit the text of the tag in situ. You have to delete and type it in again.

I've come across what seems to be a variation of this.

I started entering a new tag and then decided I didn't want it so pressed the backspace button a few times to delete it. If I press the backspace too many times then focus moves to the previous tag on the resource and characters in that start being deleted.
