Really? The full price is 749.95. My upgrade price is supposed to be 20-25 (someone posted a trick when it was new that made me able to see my dynamic price, even though I couldn't take advantage of it). So, no, the full price definitely isn't better than not at all. I could buy the few volumes I'm missing separately for a lot cheaper than that. But not cheap enough to tempt me.

So I went ahead and took an absurd amount of time (like I didn't go to sleep last night at all) and scrounged together this puppy...

...basically, I envision this sitting on top of Portfolio. Is it a base package, or a supplement? That's up to Logos to decide; they would have to include the base package toys. I'm not saying this is exhaustive--I'm pretty certain it isn't--but this is what I want. Actually, I have big chunks (pieces-parts) of this already. Anyway, make this attractive enough, and I will get it...I promi$$$e.

Kind of surprised that you didn't include Themelios - but then I noticed you did include a lot of Arminean titles. Would you perhaps prefer an Arminean base package?

I think your proposal package looks a bit like "everything interesting Logos offers at the moment excluding portfolio". That sounds good but.... well, yeah... it might be a bit expensive....

Expensive...yes. I stated that it would be in the OP. The question is...does Logos want to sell this stuff or not? I will repeat my purchasing philosophy again. I pick up a steady stream of CPs and PrePubs. But over and above that, if Logos wants to sell their backlog of resources it will take a mighty motivation to get it done. Bob manages to cram extremely high value into the base packages using the familiar concept of bulk purchasing. All I'm asking for is that the same be applied to the resources in my Unobtanium package. Will it be expensive? No doubt. But it is the only way I (and I feel certain, many others as well) will dig extra deep to come up with the over-and-above cost associated with these older resources. It's pretty simple, really. Make the savings percentage so absurd that people feel they have no choice but to come up with the funds associated with getting these resources. Otherwise, they will "sit on the shelf" gathering virtual dust.

I've admitted that the total cost of the package will be prohibitive for an all-at-once purchase. I suggest the following. Rather than use the familiar tiered package formula used for base packages, group the resources into equivalently valued modules. Call them something catchy like Module A, Module B, and so on. Have a sufficient number of modules so that the cost of each module is within the grasp of a purchaser. Say that there ends up being a dozen modules and each module costs around $2000 or so. Logos could offer a greater discount for getting two at once, or an even better one for getting three. I don't see a great need for more than three levels, though. Few people will be able to come up with more than $6000 for a single purchase, and at the savings percentages I'm suggesting, there wouldn't be a lot more room to give a better deal. The kinds of percentages I'm looking for are similar to those that were offered for the original Master Collection bundles from a few years back. If I can get those percentages, I will spend lots of money to bolster my library with things I would like to have but can't justify purchasing at the current value level. I will dig deep, over and above what I normally afford for Logos purchases, only if the value is off-the-chart. What Logos gains by offering such deals is income it is never going to see otherwise.

Bob is talking about adding 10,000 resources every year or two. None of us can even remotely hope to keep up with that kind of firehose stream of offerings...unless Bob can successfully convince publishers that Logos (and e-publishers of hyperlinked reference materials in general) are a unique market that justifies a radical new concept in publishing, even greater than what Amazon has produced with Kindle. We thrive on the total available hyperlinked web of resources in our libraries. More is better, not because we will ever use it all directly through entire reading, but because we can search it all and link to it all via hyperlinks. If I can massively increase my library via absurd value, I will do so even though the cost is high. It is the only way I can justify digging that deep. I am already at the point where I can say I have what I need. The only thing that will make me go really big at this point is absurd value. The value will justify the unnecessary expense.

I hope to see something like this soon...but please give us a bit of heads up. We will need to plan for these kinds of purchases well in advance.

Johannes already answered the Themelios question. Truth is, there are other things that I could have included in this that aren't in Portfolio, but I already have them in my library and my method for building this was a combination of scouring my Wish List and doing searches and culling the things that weren't greyed out. I don't mind if other things get included, but I don't want too much of the in-house "churchese" material included...that's what those other base packages are for.

Yes, I included some Arminian titles, but I also included titles from many other streams of practice as well (Catholic, Pentecostal, Lutheran, etc.). What I used for my criteria in these choices was 1) is it a Bible-tied resource, 2) does it give a self-explanation of why and wherefore concerning Biblical understanding, 3) does it avoid in-house issues. I want to know what "thought-stream X" thinks about what the Bible says and why. I don't care much about their "church" issues. Like I said in the OP, those subjects are derivative to Bible understanding or lack thereof. I'm not looking for agreement in interpretation to warrant inclusion here--I don't expect that at all, to be honest. But like I said, I want these packages to be primarily Bible focused.

In another thread, I lamented Zondervan's bullying tactics regarding not participating in dynamic pricing of its resources. I would love to see Zondervan resources in this Unobtanium package, but I'm not sure they have a mindset that would cooperate with the underlying premise. So be it. However, if they want to play nice, welcome. 

In a few weeks, I will repost the package with a few additional resources added. I snuck a few things in before the post locked, but I have added more since to the Word doc that I built the list in.
