The book is actually a stack of presentations/writings from mainly jewish archaeologists concentrating on the temple in the first century. The Amazon look-ahead is pretty lengthy if you're curious. Oddly, the Kindle version cost more than the paperback (maybe pre-pub price).
Closely related (and credited by Charlesworth) is 'the Quest' if you haven't read (or more accurately 'looked') at its images and discussions. A really beautiful book.
